Before<Before>before<Before>before<Before>before<Before>before<Before>after<After>after<After>after<After>My facial asymmetry was really severe, and more than anything, I hated having a long face (my lower face was long..), so I decided to have surgery. It was my first cosmetic surgery, and I never thought I’d end up getting double jaw surgery and facial contouring instead of double eyelid surgery.
First, let me talk about what was honestly amazing after getting the surgery.
The masks I used to wear always felt tight around my cheekbones and chin tip, but now they’re seriously so loose. Before, when I wore a mask, it fit snugly against my face, so my face actually looked better with the mask on. But now the mask is so loose that wearing one actually makes my face look too puffy..
And
With the padded jacket I used to wear, if I zipped it all the way up to the collar around my neck, my chin would keep getting caught, so even when it was cold, I couldn’t zip it up and had to wear the collar down..? But now it doesn’t get caught anymore...
And
When I saw foreigners before, it kind of felt like I was looking at aliens, you know? Their heads were so small that every time I saw them, I thought, wow, how can a person’s head be like that? But after surgery, that sense of difference I used to feel is much, much less now. ..
Oh, and other people’s reactions..
"Wow, one of my friends also got double eyelid surgery recently, but I didn’t feel like she changed that much..? Wow, you really look like you changed a lot.."
"It looks like you put the SNOW baby filter on your face.."
"Wow, cosmetic surgery really should be done all at once and completely changed. Hey, your surgery turned out well. Your face looks younger now, you changed into a cute type."
People say cosmetic surgery is fine as long as you’re satisfied with it yourself, but other people’s reactions are really important too. Since everyone says my surgery turned out well, I think I’m even more satisfied.
Oh, and two people thought I had gotten nose surgery. When I asked, they said it was because my jaw moved back, making my nose look relatively more prominent..! But when I really compare my side profile, I do think my nose looks higher than before!!
Before surgery, it was absolutely necessary for me to cover one side of my cheekbones, but now I go around without covering them. I really think my satisfaction with my cheekbones is high too. -------------- Side effects
The double jaw surgery was done with SSRO, and for sensory loss, I had almost no sensation in the philtrum area immediately after surgery, but now about 90% has returned.
As for cheek sagging, I’m not sure yet because of the swelling. To my eyes, I can see a little bit of sagging, but other people react like, you don’t have any sagging though..?
I don’t think I have a double chin or chin sagging. I think it’s because I didn’t really have much fat under my chin to begin with.
------------ Anyway, I’m still doing mouth-opening exercises, and I can fit two fingers vertically, and if I lay them horizontally, I can fit three. How was it for others?
