Before <Pre-op 1> Before <This is also pre-op 2> <Around 2 months after surgery> <Around 3 months? after surgery> <Recent!!> After... leveling up is hard.. haha Writing this quickly to level up faster, huff huff
Honestly, I wanted to write a review right after surgery, but the swelling went down so slowly... it was sluggish.. and then I actually forgot about it.. These days, the major swelling has finally gone down, so I remembered the review lol and came back. It is better to post after the major swelling has gone down rather than when it is all puffy from the start, right? lol
First, my pre-op face shape was... flat + broad + on the long side (long, but wide sideways so it somehow did not look long, a strange and useless kind of magic ^^ lol) I had always been considering facial contouring surgery, but once I actually put in the effort and went around for consultations, I was told contouring would improve it, yes, but as for the volume itself, hmm, well, it would basically take your current image and make it better haha, that kind of level?
It was not just one or two clinics saying that; every place I went said the same thing, so I started getting annoyed.. I did have a wannabe type I wanted, but ha.. ㅠ So in the end, after getting consultations and thinking about it for a while, I said I would do double jaw surgery.. With double jaw surgery, volume is added to the upper and lower jaw, so the chin that used to protrude farther forward than the nasolabial area would change (when taking photos and the light hit, the chin was the highlight.. the upper jaw area was in shadow.. people who know what I mean will know..ㅠㅠ)
I also had a slight underbite tendency. From the side, it was just a straight-line face, but wide.. No matter how striking the eyes, nose, and mouth are, if something somehow feels like it lacks volume and dimensionality, if you look at a CT of the upper and lower jaw and get a consultation, you will understand what I mean....
Right after surgery, I was like, I do not know anymore, I just want to turn back time, breathe comfortably, and I am so hungry I am going crazy wanting to eat, but since it is already done and I cannot turn back time, I held on mentally... and went into endurance mode..!! Up to one month was pretty hard ㅠ Eating was hard too, but I could still go outside, so I met friends too.. (this is pretty good for mental recovery..!)
By the 2-month mark, it felt somewhat like I looked human again?? But there was still a lot of swelling.. hahaha After more time passes, there is a point where another big drop happens and you think, huh, that was swelling? Just hang in there until then.. And around 2-3 months, you do not even remember the immediate post-op period, and looking at your face feels thrilling. You only think, I am glad I did it lololol People really are creatures of forgetfulness haha!!
It is really not an easy surgery, but it is definitely a surgery where satisfaction grows as time passes.. But please do not just think, oh, I want to do it too.. Make sure you go for consultations at multiple places before deciding. For the place I went to, it was a big help mentally that the director provided close post-op care, progress checks, and treatment..!! If you are anxious but it is hard to see the director, double jaw surgery can seriously shake your mentality..ㅠ So please check everything carefully and make sure to bring a questionnaire before your consultation haha!!! + They were cool about letting me take photos of the CT with my phone too hahaha
