Review of orthodontic treatment for gum protrusion + retruded chin

My teeth were very even, but I had a lot of concerns because of gum protrusion and a retruded chin. I was so stressed because of my protruding mouth, and when I was in high school, there were times I covered it with a mask when going around. Since it was gum protrusion and not dental protrusion, it was tricky, and at a local dental clinic I went to when I was younger, I even heard ridiculous things like, “It’s not a protruding mouth, you just gained fat in your philtrum” ㅠ (anyone could see it was definitely a protruding mouth) After being stressed about it my whole life, I started in the latter half of age 24. Now it has been 470 days since I started orthodontic treatment, and although the treatment isn’t completely finished, the protrusion has gone in a lot, and more than anything, my retruded chin has improved a lot, so I’m satisfied. The gums showing when I smile have also improved a lot. Most of all, I like that it was done without extractions. My parents are conservative, so they were really worried, like what if I did it and ended up looking like a grandmother, but they said they’re relieved … The director said my face isn’t extremely three-dimensional and overall has a round, cute impression, so if I extracted teeth, it could actually look too sunken and not be good, and suggested going with non-extraction. I think it was such a good choice.
