This post is for those considering rhinoplasty at an ENT clinic.
Two years ago, I had functional rhinoplasty and nasal tip surgery using donated costal cartilage at an ENT clinic near Nonhyeon Station. Because the director was active on YouTube, I thought he was skilled, but that was a big mistake.
After surgery, my nasal tip became rotated, and one nostril looked as if it had been pinched. The clinic should have photo records of this part, and I am confident. Anyone could see that my nasal tip had rotated.
When I visited the clinic to check my surgical progress, I carefully brought up this issue to the director, but he treated me like a difficult customer, saying, 'There is absolutely no way that could be true.' Even now, 2 years later, I cannot forget how completely different his attitude was compared with before surgery.
In the end, after being stressed for 2 years, 5 days ago I had revision surgery with a [board-certified plastic surgeon] who specializes in rhinoplasty. My deviated nose and pinched nostril issue were improved almost perfectly.
Through the revision surgery, I realized the difference in 'cosmetic surgery' skill between a plastic surgery specialist and an ENT specialist. The medical depth in cosmetic surgery has to be different between someone who has studied only the nose and someone who has studied the entire face.
The plastic surgery specialist explained step by step why my nose had turned out this way and how it should be improved. It was different from the attitude of the ENT director who turned the blame on me, saying, 'There is no way my surgery could have been wrong.'
I am writing this sincerely for anyone who might suffer after having cosmetic surgery at an ENT clinic like I did. I mean this as a suggestion to think about it one more time.
I am not trying to disparage the cosmetic surgery skills of all ENT specialists.
However, it cannot be denied that there is inevitably a difference in depth regarding 'cosmetic surgery' compared with plastic surgery specialists, and there is also a very high probability of a difference in the ability to consider facial harmony.
