Most of the reviews here are from women, so I’m posting this in case it helps anyone who’s considering the same surgery like me. To be honest, my friends aren’t that interested in plastic surgery, so I don’t really have anywhere to talk about it, but I also wanted to show it off at least once, so I’m writing this.
As you can see in the photos, my nasal tip area was rounded, and because my nasal bridge was so low.. I had a strong “country boy” kind of image and no refined image at all. In college, I actually heard a few times, “Did you come up from the provinces?”.. I was born in Seoul and went to university in Seoul too..
And the nose is kind of the center of the face, right? But I often felt like my nose wasn’t really taking charge of my face..? But usually for men, the nose often determines the facial image, right? If you look at male celebrities, even just changing the nose can dramatically change the image..? So I decided to have surgery, thinking, you only live once, so let’s live with the face I want.
Like I just said, my alar area was very round and cute-feeling? (to put it nicely..) So because I wanted to change to a more striking image, I decided to use autologous costal cartilage rather than septal cartilage. Of course, the nasal bridge was built up with silicone.
Looking at the post-op photos, I like that once the nose became higher, my mouth looks set back. Before, my mouth looked protrusive, and I looked like an orangutan, which was kind of a complex but not exactly a complex.. Writing this review makes me realize once again how important the nose is.
If you look at the photos from 2 weeks after surgery, the bruising wasn’t as bad as I expected. And since it was my first cosmetic surgery, I was also really worried about swelling, but looking at everyone else’s reviews, I don’t think my swelling was that severe Actually, at the time I worried, “What if the swelling goes down too much and my nasal bridge gets low again..?” Thankfully now even the minor swelling is all gone, and it looks natural without a Pinocchio feel, so I like it
The most uncomfortable thing after surgery was having to sleep sitting up for a while.. You know those sofas where the backrest lowers automatically when you press a button? If you’re going to have surgery, I seriously recommend one. These days you can rent them too, so look into it. If it weren’t for that, my back would’ve hurt so much I probably couldn’t have slept And if you lie down for no reason and your nose gets pressed.. that would really be awful. Other than that one thing, pain and everything else were fine for me.
For the hospital, I made a list of places with many male rhinoplasty cases, went in person to about 4-5 consultations, thought it over enough, weighed the pros and cons, and chose. Don’t feel bad about consultation fees. Keep going to consultations until you find a hospital and director you like. That’s how you avoid regrets.
Lastly, there still seem to be a lot of negative views about men getting plastic surgery.. outside the entertainment industry, in ordinary society But we’re in an era where life expectancy is 120 years, so shouldn’t we do what we want? So don’t feel too intimidated, and if it’s something you want, try to have courage. (I’m not recommending plastic surgery.) After surgery, my complex improved, so I also gained confidence and feel good! You might think it sounds obvious, but it’s really true. I used to be timid, but these days I don’t avoid meeting people as much, and recently I even got a girlfriend Of course, I came out to my girlfriend about having surgery. Also, for men here, rhinoplasty changes your image more dramatically than double-eyelid surgery. For men only, of course
