First of all, even though I had my first surgery 8 years ago.. my nose was so short and the bridge was low.. and my nostrils were way, way, way too visibleㅠ (of course, before surgery, I basically had almost no nose, like Voldemort) Still, I tried to live thinking I should be grateful that I at least had a nose.. but then whenever I looked in the mirror lolololㅜㅠ my desire to have a prettier nose kept growing, and I kept getting stressedㅠㅜㅜ so I finally made a big decision and decided on revision surgery..
The very first hospital I went to was Conopi, and after the consultation I just put down the deposit right away First of all, I didn’t have to worry about a shadow doctor, and the fact that they’d been operating under the same name in the same place for over ten years made me trust them, so I booked as if I were possessed... lololol Of course, I think I liked it even more because the consultant was so kind Anyway, when I had the consultation and first met the director, my first impression was that he felt a bit cold, like a university professor who grades very strictly? The kind who would say even being 5 minutes late is still late and absolutely wouldn’t let it slide.. hehe That was the vibe, but as soon as he looked at my nose, he told me the columella needed to be lowered He said my nostrils were so visible because the columella was recessed.. He said that was the key point, so I asked a bunch of questions, and he answered them well.. It felt like, just follow me and you’ll be fine? I could feel his confidence Since it was a revision surgery, we decided to use costal cartilage Anyway, then came the long-awaited surgery day lololol
I changed into the surgical gown and got onto the operating table They said, “The anesthesia is going in, you’re feeling a bit sleepy, right? The director will see you now~” but I didn’t feel anything, so I said, “No, I’m not sleepy..” and then.... about 3 seconds later I lost consciousness..... When I woke up, they helped me up, there was a splint on my nose (for real, I woke up from sleeping and suddenly had a nose), and I lay down in the recovery room for a bit before going home My nose throbbed in sync with my heartbeat.. blood started dripping.. but I didn’t really feel much pain The area where the costal cartilage was harvested just felt like muscle soreness after doing 200 sit-ups (it was hard when getting my body up)
On the day of surgery, I couldn’t really tell if I was swelling, and I just spent the day playing games. Anyone who’s had surgery knows, but the hardest part is having cotton packed inside the nose.. not being able to breathe... And they say you swell less if you keep your head higher than your heart, but I’m the type who swells a lot, so I slept completely sitting up for 3 days.. that was really hard..
On the second day, I swelled up like someone who had eaten about 5 packs of ramen I think they removed the cotton on the third day, and breathing through my nose made me feel alive again On around day 4, I was so swollen that looking in the mirror at myself looking like a fish resembling Bang Si-hyuk was horrifying,, hehe In my case, my upper lip was so swollen that it looked like it would make five full plates if sliced. I felt like my gums were swollen too, like my teeth were being pushed... ugh.. hoping the swelling would go down quickly, I drank pumpkin juice every day and took medicine to reduce swelling Day 5 was finally the day to remove the splintㅠ (the splint is usually removed at one week, but I had to go to work, so I asked them to remove it on day 5) Amazingly, once the splint came off, the swelling started going down rapidly.. Of course, right after the splint was removed, I looked like a lioness, but the swelling goes down surprisingly a lot. Don’t be too shocked by your swollen face.. I think everyone just needs to wait patiently...
And after surgery, there were about 3? 4? days when I had to go to the hospital, and every time I went, the director was incredibly gentle and kind After looking all around my nose with such sweet eyes, he said, “There’s nothing wrong^^~ It went well^^” I thought maybe the day I went for the consultation had just been an especially busy day. He had looked a little tired too..
And like that, a month passed by,,~~~~~~ The swelling went down day by day, and when I took photos, the line came out in a way I really, really liked...
At the one-month mark, I went to the hospital and took photos again, and when I compared them with the before photos, seriously, that photo with the headband is my own face, but I hate seeing it every time. Seeing the before photos, I honestly thought “I’m so glad I did it..” about 248098302359 million times in my head When I checked then, I realized my nose had even been crooked before,,, lololol Anyway.. he lengthened the columella so beautifully tooㅠㅡ Rather than making it too flashy, he made it pretty in a way that suited my face...
If my first surgery changed me from Voldemort to semi-Voldemort... with this revision surgery, I finally feel like I became human... I really love my noseㅠㅡ Honestly, at first, since it was revision surgery, I wanted something more dramatic even if it looked a bit obvious, but there’s a limit to how much the skin can stretch, and now that I see it, this line and heightㅠㅠ are perfect for my face... I realized again that the “just trust me and follow me~~” feeling the director showed me at first wasn’t baseless confidence, but confidence that came from experience... Anyway, I’m really extremely satisfied..
When I saw the director at the one-month mark lol, he told me.. he really put his soul into doing it for me lololol All I could say was thank you so much... I only think that I’m really glad I had surgery at Conopi... Everyone at the desk was kind too... The person who removed my nose stitches was kind too...... well, I only have good memories
The costal cartilage area hurt until week 3.. now it’s completely fine, and there is still some minor swelling when viewed from the frontㅠ Anyway, it was such a satisfying surgery...
The photo is from the one-month mark, and now it’s a little over a month, and it’s getting more and more natural!
