After getting rhinoplasty 11 years ago, I recently had a traffic accident and my nasal bone was fractured, but I couldn’t proceed with surgery right away. It was during the peak of COVID distancing, so I had to wait a few days, and I also developed inflammation in my nose from the accident. For the fracture surgery, they couldn’t operate with the silicone implant still in place, so they removed all the implants and did the surgery. I was worried about contracture, but thankfully contracture didn’t happen. They said I would have to wait 6 months if I wanted silicone put back in, and now I’m exactly at the 6-month mark, but my nose is prettier than I expected, so I’m just not doing it. Since it was a university hospital, I was worried the shape might turn out strange, but I’m very satisfied.
