I had a small, low nose, and when I was in high school, without knowing anything about going around for consultations, I did it at a large hospital: Gore-Sili on the nasal bridge, septal cartilage for the nasal tip, and nasal cartilage tying. I had no idea about disadvantages like Gore-Sili being difficult to remove or the shape becoming lower when removed. I just did it without thinking.
That upturned, ski-slope nose shape that was popular back then. Just when I was about to live satisfied with it...(seriously, just for a moment; I think that slim shape only lasted a few months) it gradually started taking on a shape somewhere between my old nose and the operated nose,
and like that, 1 year, 2 years...
Maybe the cartilage tying came undone too, because from below, it returned to my original round nostrils, and the bridge got much lower, to the point that people wouldn’t believe me even if I said I had nose surgeryㅋㅋㅋ
The bridge kept getting more and more crooked.... the implant was moving.....
Then more than 10 years passed, and compared to my original nose it was slightly higher, but only the bridge was extremely crooked, so it had become a monster noseㅠㅠㅠㅠ The nose also became a little short. As a bonus, my nasal discharge smelled like a washed dirty rag^^
Sometimes people would ask why my nose was crooked, and I’d be speechless...
I worked hard with contour shadingㅋㅋㅋㅋ
About 4 years ago, I think, I joined a community and looked into removal, but people were talking about contracture and so on, so I got scared and decided to just live with it......
Starting last year, I kept getting severe pimples on the crooked part. My immune system was very weak, so maybe the inflammation in my nose got worseㅜㅠ
But I didn’t usually think of it as inflammation because I only thought it was pimples, and I didn’t really feel symptoms like heat, swelling, or redness. They might have been there and I just didn’t notice....
Anyway, because of the pimples, the nasal bridge would swell, and wow, it seriously looked unbearable.. I thought I couldn’t go on like this, made up my mind, and toured all the hospitals said to be famous for removal.
You meet the consultant before meeting the director, right? When I lowered my mask and they saw my nose, they were shockedㅋㅋㅋㅋ
I went to a total of 5 places; all said there were signs of inflammation, and 4 places said there was also contracture.
Everyone examined my nose really thoroughly, and among them, two people said, "Why did they put in such a short and wide implant...?" and a deep anger rose up inside me...
And actually, after removal, seeing it, it really was extremely short. I’ve seen a lot of photos of removed implants... Why did they put something like this inside my nose,,,?
Four places said the nasal tip would 100% turn upward and that it had to be lowered with ear cartilage. At the hospital I wanted most, they said the inflammation looked severe, and if surgery was done all at once and inflammation occurred again later, the ear cartilage they placed could melt, so they suggested removing only the implant through a closed approach, then lowering the nasal tip after 6 months. No, doctor, two surgeriesㅠㅠㅠ Since it was two surgeries, of course the cost was the highest too, ha..... I also asked about removing the capsule, but they trailed off...
On YouTube and at other hospitals they say that if inflammation is severe, of course the capsule also needs to be completely removed. They said to do two surgeries because they were worried the cartilage would melt from inflammation, so why wouldn’t they clearly say to remove the entire capsule? With that question in mind,
I decided on another hospital.
The surgical method was: complete removal of the Gore-Sili and capsule, and lowering the nasal tip with ear cartilage, all done at once.
Some places talk about raising the bridge with fascia from behind the ear and so on, but even if my nasal bridge became extremely low, I didn’t want anything put in.
I was okay with it being low; my wish was just for there to be no more inflammation, no contracture, and for only the nasal tip to come down.
Once they actually opened the nose, the inflammation was worse than expected, so they said it took 30 extra minutes to scrape out all the inflammatory tissue...
Including the weekend, I had nasal packing in for 4 days. For the first two days, I seriously thought I was going crazy because of the nasal packing panic.
The day before yesterday, I had the splint and stitches removed and saw the shape, and I was shockedㅋㅋㅋ I had expected that it could become lower than my natural nose for various reasons: it could have been pressed down by the implant for over 10 years, there are cases where the hump is slightly shaved down during the first surgery, and because it can be uneven at removal, bridge refinement may be needed... and so on.
But it’s too low^^^...... Still, it seems they paid some attention to the nasal tipㅠㅠㅠ And I have nasal discharge, but now it doesn’t smell like a dirty rag anymore.... It must have been because of the inflammation.
As I got older I became such a coward that I had hundreds of thoughts a day about what if side effects happen again,
but for now, I’m grateful just that I can smell well and breathe wellㅠㅠㅠ . . . But people’s minds really are so fickle; for a few hours earlier, I thought maybe I should have put dermis on the bridge since there’s almost no bridge, haㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ I really need to let go of greed.
I want to attach a photo of the removed Gore-Sili, but some capsule is stuck to it too, so it’s too gross...
I hope this will be my last surgeryㅠㅠㅠㅠ
Oh, it’s now one week since surgery! I’ve also been prescribed medication to prevent contracture... Today my nasal tip feels a bit tight... Because they removed that awful Gore-Sili, the bridge area is still very swollen.
I heard taping helps swelling go down well, so I only have taping on right now.. Like 14
