I used to avoid having my picture taken, but these days I keep checking my side profile instead lol! It has been five months since I had double-jaw surgery and facial contouring surgery together with Dr. Kim Jong-yoon at [Clinic A]! I have been satisfied with how my long face shape and gummy smile, which had been complexes of mine for a long time, have improved I used to feel particularly self-conscious when I saw candid photos of myself because my long face and the amount of gum showing when I smiled—the gummy smile—stood out so much. It was even more noticeable in photos with other people, so I gradually started avoiding having my picture taken Then, when I reached my late 20s and looked back, I was upset to see that I had far fewer photos left than I expected. I decided to undergo double-jaw surgery because I wanted to improve the issue I had been deliberating over for a long time before it was too late!
When researching hospitals, I focused on finding reviews from people who had undergone double-jaw surgery because of a long face and gummy smile like mine, rather than for a protruding jaw or facial asymmetry. Then I saw before-and-after photos of a similar case operated on by Dr. Kim Jong-yoon at [Clinic A], and after having a consultation, I made my final decision. Since my concerns were more about appearance than occlusion or functional discomfort, I considered safety and natural facial proportions the most important factors. During the consultation, I felt that the doctor’s aesthetic approach matched what I was looking for!!
From the third month after double-jaw surgery, I could feel my face gradually settling into place!! Early on, my nose looked slightly lifted, but as time passed it naturally came down compared with before, and I personally really like my current side-profile line lololol. As the swelling went down, I could see my long face shape becoming more refined, so looking in the mirror became fun Even acquaintances I met after a long time did not specifically ask whether I had surgery unless I brought up the double-jaw surgery first I was secretly happy because the change seemed to feel that natural. From this point on, I was able to go about my daily life without discomfort, and I also became interested in InMode lifting because I wanted to refine the remaining residual swelling and the area beneath my chin a little more lolol. However, since I was still recovering from double-jaw surgery, I decided to ask the doctor first rather than have it done right away!
At four months, when I visited for a follow-up, I asked the doctor whether it was okay to receive InMode treatment, and after hearing that it was fine, I had it done right away! I had actually been wondering whether I needed to wait until six months, so I was happy that I could receive it earlier than expected After trying it myself, I felt that, by my standards, the residual swelling and the area beneath my chin looked a little more refined. People around me were also surprised when they saw me after a long time and said that the swelling had gone down so much Of course, since swelling was continuing to decrease as part of the recovery process after double-jaw surgery, I cannot say it was all due to the InMode effect, but I was personally satisfied, so I plan to continue through three sessions!!!
At that point, the swelling on the two sides was going down at slightly different speeds, so a subtle asymmetry remained. Compared with before, however, I could feel that my overall facial line had become much slimmer and more defined. Since I was still recovering and the swelling was continuing to change little by little, I decided to watch the progress rather than worry too much. I am now five months post-op from double-jaw surgery!!! Daily life has become so comfortable that I sometimes forget I even had surgery Most of the major swelling has settled, so I am not doing any particular swelling care, and I have now also completed my second InMode session~!! My family still says that the swelling looks like it will go down more, but since I will already be six months post-op next month, I am really curious about how much more my facial line will change from here lolol. The difference in swelling between the two sides that bothered me at four months is gradually decreasing, and my overall face shape also feels like it is settling in more naturally!! Of course, there are still areas that I would personally like to see refined a little more, but when I compare my photos from three months with how I look now, I can clearly see the changes that came with recovery, so I am satisfied. Most of all, I used to feel self-conscious about taking pictures because of my long face and gummy smile, but now the biggest change is that I enjoy looking at my changed face shape and side profile I am planning to visit [Clinic A] soon for my six-month follow-up, and I am looking forward to seeing how the remaining swelling will change!!!
