Double-Jaw Surgery Reviews

Review of my recessed-chin surgery at [Clinic A]

Hello. It has been about 40 days since my recessed-chin surgery at [Clinic A]. Before surgery, I had lived without knowing the term “recessed chin” at all. Then in 2025, an acquaintance asked whether I had considered getting filler because my chin was recessed. From that point, I researched recessed chins, and as I walked around, other people’s chin shapes began to catch my eye, so I naturally compared them with my own. What concerned me most was that my double chin and lack of a defined jawline in profile made me look less masculine. After searching many hospitals, [Clinic A], which had numerous reviews, caught my attention. I felt that nose and chin surgery should be performed at a place with specialist training in the relevant fields, so I had a consultation early in 2026 and felt that I should do it there. However, worries about whether it was the right choice overlapped with cold symptoms, so I postponed it. I thought I would eventually forget about it, but after taking photos and being shocked that my chin was completely invisible in profile, I scheduled surgery for August 14. After surgery, I waited in the treatment room until the sleep anesthesia wore off. It took a long time to stop the bleeding inside my mouth, so they applied more compression tape than usual. The nurses repeatedly checked whether my condition was improving, which made me feel sorry but also extremely grateful. For a week, the swelling was so severe that I could barely open my mouth and even had difficulty eating, so I took rice gruel through a syringe. Following the hospital’s instructions, I used the chin compression band and cold packs whenever I could to reduce the swelling. Later, after removing the compression tape and attending follow-up checks at the hospital, I had the stitches removed and was told I could eat everything except tough foods, so I gradually began eating carefully. As other people’s reviews and the doctor had said, sensation takes time to return, so I took the prescribed Mecobalamin and applied warm compresses for an hour every day. Shaving with a razor felt unpleasant, as though I were touching someone else’s skin, but now sensation is gradually returning compared with before, so even at 40 days I think I need to continue treatment. After surgery, people said I looked more masculine, that my formerly fierce image had become softer, and asked whether I had lost weight. Although late, I’m glad I finally decided to do it. If you are considering recessed-chin surgery like me, you can join the clinic website and read reviews from people who had surgery before you. Use them as a reference, and bring photos of what you want. It may be difficult to achieve exactly the same result, but the doctor can use them as a reference and give you a satisfying outcome.
