I’m one month post-op after rhinoplasty, so I’m writing a review. I like cooking, and it feels like spending 2–3 hours preparing and cooking, only for the meal to be finished in 20 minutes. I feel like I prepared for the surgery for half a year. I looked up videos, read rhinoplasty reviews, chose a hospital, and honestly that period was more stressful and difficult. Going around for consultations wasn’t easy either I have a passive personality, so resisting the pressure to book was really hard The hospital I decided on didn’t pressure me to book, and I had two consultations including a repeat consultation. Both times, the consultations with the director doctor and consultant were really good, and the rhinoplasty cost was reasonable too, so I decided on it. The pre-op photo was when I still had nose filler, and I had the surgery after removing the nose filler. Compared with before I got filler, it looked okay, so I thought maybe I didn’t need nose surgery, but the more I looked, the more unsatisfied I felt, so I figured it would be better to just have surgery. After trying filler, I realized I wanted it a little larger and higher rather than natural, so I did it that way. But I didn’t make the silicone implant too high; I put in 4 mm and asked them to raise the nasal tip more. Originally I was planning to do the surgery with septal cartilage only, but to make it a bit higher I also used ear cartilage. They said it was possible because my skin is still on the stretchier side. If the skin doesn’t stretch well, they said you can’t make it as high as you want. Preparing for surgery was hard, but after the surgery was over, it was hard when the cotton packing was blocking my nose, and I slept sitting up until the splint was removed. That part was pretty hard. After that, it was okay, and I’m so grateful that I can wash well and eat well. It still feels like there’s some swelling, but if I keep watching it, it’ll probably get better. I’m also so grateful that I don’t have side effects like inflammation.
