It was over much faster than I thought. After they put in the anesthetic drops, I sat there, then when they called my name I went in. When they said, “Please look at the red laser~,” I stared at it while trembling, and if I zoned out, I got scolded and told to look straight ㆅㆅ... After about 15 minutes? or so, it was over.
My original vision was minus in both eyes... -6.. I had really high myopia. I started wearing glasses right after entering elementary school, so maybe because of that I didn’t really know the world without glasses, but it was a whole new world..
After surgery, I didn’t have things like glare for a while, so I thought the surgery had gone really well, but from around 2 years in, when my physical condition was bad or when it was nighttime, lights started to look soft and hazy, like there was a filter on them, and not clear.. When I first had the exam, they said my optic nerves were weak, so I might not be able to have the surgery; maybe it’s because of that.. But if I were told to get SMILE LASIK again, I think I could do it. Compared with the drawback of glare, the fact that I no longer have to wear glasses is such a huge advantage.
