Review after 8 full years since LASEK vision correction surgery

If I had to pick one of the things I did well in my life, LASEK would definitely be included.

I wore glasses continuously from age 10 to 26, and because I had high myopia (minus prescription) plus astigmatism, everything looked blurry unless I brought my eyes within 10 cm right in front of it.

I always had a desire for vision correction surgery.. Back then, I didn’t know about things like side effects, and I just thought that if it was a clinic in Gangnam, they were all famous so it would be good. Without shopping around for clinics, I just chose one because it had some partnership with the company I worked for.

Fortunately, in the end, the surgery went well. For side effects, I think postoperative care is more important than the surgery itself.

I carefully took the medications prescribed by the clinic right on schedule, did not touch alcohol at all for 6 months, and even wore sunglasses at night (my friends called me crazy).

Of course, I also never skipped visits to the clinic to check the surgical progress and went diligently. Even after the surgery, I get a postoperative checkup about once a year, and I haven’t skipped those either.

Doing that, I felt my eyes gradually settling into their own. Some people complain of glare or other side effects, but I truly have none at all.

To the point that I don’t even remember the days when I used to wear glasses. Even now, my vision is maintained at 1.0 in both eyes.

If you have anything you’re curious about, leave a comment and I’ll answer.
