I saw a 12-year LASEK review too, so I thought I would post one.
1. Current condition: my vision has worsened again Is it because I ended up with a job where I look at the computer so much? My eyes, which had reached a corrected visual acuity of 1.5, have now worsened again to 0.3. Nighttime glare is also pretty severe, so I tend to avoid driving at night.
2. If I could go back: implantable contact lens surgery If my eyes were eligible for implantable contact lens surgery, I think I would choose that… My husband had implantable contact lens surgery about 5 years ago, and he is living very comfortably without either of the two major side effects of vision correction surgery: dry eye and glare. (Of course it is much more expensive than LASEK… but if these are eyes you will use for your whole life, I think that level of investment is possible.)
3. Implantable contact lens surgery even now? I actually went to a hospital to look into it, but they said they do not do implantable contact lens surgery unless the prescription is minus. (Because there is no lens to put into the eye.)
