After deciding on LASEK, I went for eye exams at 4 places, and this place had the most up-to-date equipment and the optometrists were kind, so I trusted them. I also had a recommendation from an acquaintance... and the doctor had been focusing only on LASEK for so long that his pride in it was on another level. He wasn't extremely friendly, but it felt like confidence that comes from solid experience..?
I had surgery in May 2023, and about 7 months have passed. My cornea was thick and my eyesight wasn't too bad, so the ablation amount was small too. My current visual acuity is 1.2. There is a bit more dryness than before, but not to the point that I can't tolerate it. My vision wasn't completely bad, around 0.3, so maybe because of that, I didn't have much pain even during the surgery. As for halos/glare, I originally had astigmatism, so I don't particularly notice them. I originally had severe allergies in my nose and eye mucous membranes, so whenever I wore contacts, I had about a 90% chance of getting conjunctivitis. Now it feels a little more like living like a normal person... pure happiness
