I have a bit of a hump nose, and my nasal bridge isn’t low either, so I had consultations at all the clinics for implant-free rhinoplasty.
1. Between - Director Lee Ji-hwan - No consultation fee - Ear cartilage, septal cartilage The consultant I met didn’t really seem professional to me, but overall the clinic was clean and had a comfortable dental-clinic kind of atmosphere. Since it was my very first consultation, I was scared, so I left without even putting down a deposit, but the consultant did somewhat pressure me about the deposit... The director used the computer to draw lines for me and mapped out the line very meticulously, listened to all the details, and seemed professional. Here, the deposit is not 100% refundable; they deduct 10%, so it’s a 90% refund.
2. DA - Director Hwang Sun-jin - No consultation fee - Ear cartilage, septal cartilage The price was the cheapest. There was a lobby, and it felt like a hotel. There were many rooms too, so it felt like a separated brown-toned hotel... The consultant was kind, but I don’t think we were a good fit. Since it was my first time with procedures, surgery, clinics, and things like that, I didn’t really know what I should ask. So I hoped there would be some explanation and a bit of guidance during the consultation, but even when I showed photos to the director, it didn’t seem like he immediately caught the style I wanted... He seemed rushed...? I didn’t choose the director myself.
3. AB - Director Lee Jung-hwan - No consultation fee - Autologous costal cartilage, septal cartilage This was the clinic where I waited the longest. I was so lucky with the consultant; she genuinely worried about me like an older sister. I also got consultations for other areas, and there was no pressure. She actually said I didn’t need to do them. It was surprising. I went after specifically choosing the director. I had heard that even if the director was a bit cold during the consultation, he was good at surgery, so I went in prepared, but he really was cold... How should I put it, it felt like he was speaking roughly and briefly. I’m not saying he wasn’t professional. He explained by drawing with a ballpoint pen on a photo of my face, and I said I didn’t want it too high, I didn’t want my nostrils to show too much, and I wanted it to look natural. But I was told, “It has to be raised,” “But your nostrils need to show more than they do now,” “Everyone’s standard for natural is different,” and if a high nose isn’t what I consider natural, there’s no choice because it has to be raised. That’s what I heardㅠ I really liked the consultant, but I’m wondering whether it’s right to do it here.
I’m deciding between 1 and 3. For 3, they said I need to use autologous costal cartilage, so I’m worried about the scar, and I’m not sure if that’s right for a first surgery. I’m planning to visit 2 more clinics tomorrow and decide.
