The things I considered important when choosing a hospital were 1. Whether an ENT specialist for functional nose surgery (rhinitis surgery) was on staff 2. Whether indemnity insurance processing was possible 3. Before-and-after cases for the external appearance (cosmetic) of a bulbous nose
((Functional 50%, cosmetic 50%, so the importance ratio was the same ‘◡’ ))
Those were the 3 things, and based on the website and people's reviews,
I made consultation appointments at 4 places, ㅍㄹㅁㅇ / ㅂ / ㅈㅇㅈ / ㅍㄹㄴ, and went to them~!
Among them, my impressions of the 2 places I liked the most, ㅂ / ㅈㅇㅈ, were,!
<ㅂ Plastic Surgery> - Directors: Go Guk-jin + Hong Yong-taek, consultations with both of them - ENT cooperative hospital O (Director Go is an ENT specialist) - Consultation after CT scan - No consultation fee (CT scan fee also free) - Surgical areas: Nasal septum (indemnity insurance possible) / bulbous nose alar reduction (Director Hong) / nasal bridge and dorsum (silicone) / nasal tip (ear cartilage) / nasal tip fat removal - If you can visit every day for one week, they provide hyperbaric oxygen therapy - Impression: The facilities were old and not exactly clean, so my first impression was not good, but my trust went up after consulting with the directors!! They kept showing before-and-after photos and showed images of various cases,
and, as expected of an ENT specialist, they explained the functional surgery in detail while even looking with an endoscope.
Also, I mentioned that the first hospital said the nasal valve would be non-covered~ and he made a sharp point, saying that if a doctor diagnoses it, then it is diagnosed, and he did not understand why the hospital was judging whether it would be covered by insurance, which raised my trust even more!
The cost was 700,000 won higher than the first hospital, but since they said insurance claims were possible, the actual payment will probably differ by about -2 million! They also told me the diagnosis code in advance, so I called the insurance company, and I even received confirmation from the insurer that it could be submitted with that code.
<ㅈㅇㅈ Plastic Surgery & ENT> - Director: Kim Hye-young - ENT cooperative hospital O (because it is a secondary hospital, anesthesiology is also on staff) - Consultation after CT scan - Consultation fee and CT scan 25,600 won (indemnity insurance processing possible) - Surgical areas: Nasal septum (indemnity insurance possible) / bulbous nose alar reduction (tying with thread) / nasal bridge and dorsum (silicone) / nasal tip (nasal septum + donated costal cartilage) / osteotomy - Impression: The consultant explained things so clearly, like an announcer, that everything went straight into my ears (she pointed out detailed points better than the director)
The director did explain while looking at the CT, but mainly explained based on what I asked, and I did not feel much trust.
When I asked if I could see after photos or cases similar to mine, she told me to look on the website, and it strongly felt like she was trying to wrap up the consultation simply.
They were the first to recommend osteotomy, which was scary...
And they also recommended using donated costal cartilage (they said this hospital has a smooth supply of donated costal cartilage, so they often use donated costal cartilage for first surgeries).
The entire 13-story building is the hospital, so 1-night, 2-day treatment after surgery is possible, and because it is a secondary hospital, anesthesiology and pharmacy departments are on staff, so I felt reassured about postoperative care too.
I am hesitant about the osteotomy and use of donated costal cartilage, but it is one of the hospitals I am considering!
In the end, I chose ㅂ, and today is day 2 after surgery!! I want to recover quicklyㅠㅠ
