Since I had a severe underbite from a young age, I had always thought I would need double jaw surgery someday, and the orthodontic clinic I was going to recommended I-yug Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, so I got a consultation and had surgery with Dr. Kim Jong-yoon. At first, the swelling was severe and it was uncomfortable because of the tight feeling around my mouth and the tingling sensation in my gums, but as time passed I could feel things improving one by one. Around the 4-month mark, the remaining swelling had gone down a lot and the tightness had also eased considerably, so there were hardly any major inconveniences in daily life, but now that I’m at the 6-month mark, I can definitely feel things have become even more natural. In particular, the tight feeling around my mouth is almost gone now, and my facial expressions are much more natural than before. The swelling that remained around my philtrum seems to have mostly gone down too, and the overall facial swelling has also improved a lot, so even in photos my face shape comes out more naturally than before. In the early days after surgery, I was focused on recovery day by day, but now that about 6 months have passed, it feels amazing to see that things really do get better little by little over time. Right now, because of the orthodontic treatment, the discomfort I feel
