3 days ago I went to Apgujeong Station to have the autologous costal cartilage removed from my nose tip! After taking off the tape and once the swelling went down a bit, I wanted to write reviews by timeline, but I'm so bored right now that I'm just scribbling in the community First, after my first surgery, I had it removed right after 6 months. In the first surgery, I had hump smoothing + autologous costal cartilage support + septal cartilage in the nose tip. I didn't know septal cartilage had been used, but the doctor at the removal clinic said it had been used. 1) Why I decided to remove it 1. Discomfort and foreign-body sensation from the autologous costal cartilage (it feels way too stiff when I smile or make facial expressions) 2. Dissatisfaction with the shape (a step on the nasal bridge + Pinocchio nose + uneven nostrils + deviation) 3. Anxiety about inflammation after an inflammation episode two months after surgery Because of all these reasons, I decided to remove it! I used autologous costal cartilage in my first surgery, so I have a scar on my rib and wasted money too, but it was my own choice, so regretting it is my responsibility too 2) Why I chose this hospital I wasn't dealing with contracture or silicone, so I wanted to go back to my original nose while also paying attention to the shape, and I chose this hospital because I thought they would also look at the aesthetic side! And the biggest reason was that I felt the director would take responsibility from start to finish!! (Seriously, they're meticulous from beginning to end) My first hospital was a complete factory-style place; it was hard to even see the director's face, the managers wouldn't answer messages, and they quit (ㅗㅗㅗㅗ) 3) Surgery It took about 1 hour and 30 minutes. On the surgery day, I went to the hospital, changed clothes, washed my face, trimmed my nose hair, had an antibiotic test (this hurt so much), had one last consultation with the director, then the director took photos -> surgery table.. that was the order. And during the surgery, I was so grateful that they kept explaining why it hurt and how the procedure was going. The first time, I only saw the director's face for 10 minutes on the operating table and then they left, then the anesthesiologist came, put me under, and I came out 6 hours later. I didn't even get to see the director's face at the end either. 4) Pain and swelling Everyone said it didn't hurt, so I thought it wouldn't hurt, but actually it did hurt a bit Even after surgery, the stitched area was stinging? tingling? so I'm taking the medication prescribed by the hospital together with Tylenol! And for the hump correction, they said they only shaved the upper part, but they also shaved a bit below, and that part is throbbing and sore. The swelling is really minimal, and there are no bruises!! -> I'm just keeping up with cold compresses and pumpkin adzuki bean tea all the time. 5) Shape (top: before surgery, bottom: right after removal) A high, pointed nose turned round right after surgery, and there is zero foreign-body sensation or pulling when making expressions or smiling!! And the crooked columella and uneven nostrils went back right away too. That part makes me the happiest From the front, my nose looks wider, but that was always my original nose, so I'm accepting it.. I was thinking of doing alar reduction too because of this, but maybe I should have done it What do you think of my nose, everyone?? I'm bad at writing, so if there's anything else you're curious about, leave a comment and I'll tell you!
