It has now been 1 month since I had two-jaw surgery with Director Kim Jongyoon at Iu Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery!!! I had a malocclusion since elementary school, but because I lived abroad, I could not get proper orthodontic treatment in time. I already had orthodontics done during elementary, middle, and high school, but it was a forced bite, so I received the opinion that if I was going to leave it alone, I should not touch it much, but if I was going to fix it properly once, I would need two-jaw surgery. I had already made up my mind that I would eventually need surgery!! When choosing a hospital, I looked at a lot of review photos, and the cases with a before that was similar to mine and a natural transformation that did not look excessive were impressive, so I chose Iu Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. The fact that the medical staff had experience, and that orthodontics was also available there, seemed convenient for the later process as well. More than anything, I felt trust because it was an oral and maxillofacial surgery clinic that looks at functional aspects as well, not just cosmetic goals Now that 1 month has passed since the surgery, I can go about daily life without much trouble. I was worried because my job requires me to speak a lot, but speaking is hardly an obstacle, so I feel that recovery has been faster than I expected!! There is still a bit of swelling inside my mouth, so when I eat or when I accidentally touch the inside of my mouth while speaking, it can still bother me, but it is gradually getting better as time passes, so I am paying more attention to swelling management!!! In my sense, the feeling in my cheeks and palate has returned to about 85 percent, and the sensation that used to feel like a cramped painful spot when touched has mostly gone away. Now it is just a slight numbness, so it does not cause much inconvenience in daily life!!! Overall, even though it has only been 1 month, I am adapting quite stably in terms of daily life, speech, and recovery speed, so I feel that the whole process was fully manageable and I am satisfied! I hope the swelling goes down soon, so I am looking forward to what comes next!!
