I had double-jaw surgery for an underbite that stressed me out since childhood!

It has already been 6 months since I had double-jaw surgery.. When I first decided to have the surgery, I was really worried, but looking back now, I feel even more that I made the right choice! I had been stressed about my underbite since I was little. I remember going to the dentist when I was young, hoping orthodontics might solve it, but I came back disappointed after being told it was a double-jaw case. Anyway, I had double-jaw surgery and contouring type 2 surgery at Y mouth and jaw. Honestly lol, the first 1 to 2 weeks after surgery were really hard The swelling was severe and it was difficult to eat properly, so it was a tiring period both physically and mentally. Especially the unfamiliar feeling of reduced facial sensation took time to get used to. But? I do not regret it now!! As time passed, the swelling gradually started to go down, and now at 6 months, the big visible swelling seems to have mostly settled. Compared with old photos, I can definitely feel that my facial line has improved, and I like that my overall impression has become much softer. Daily life is not a problem at all, and I have recovered enough to eat most foods freely. After the period when I mostly ate soft foods, I can now eat most things, and I can also go out to eat or make plans comfortably, so I am quite satisfied. That said, foods like hard nuts are still a bit burdensome, so I eat them slowly or avoid them. Still, overall, I feel like meal-related stress has almost disappeared. The outward change is more natural than I expected. People I meet after a long time often say I seem to look a little different rather than drastically different. So I think I was able to adapt without too much pressure myself. People close to me say my face looks more refined, and I am personally happy about that too. The slight swelling and sensation have not fully returned yet, but I can feel that they are gradually getting better over time. Double-jaw surgery is definitely not a light choice, but I think that if you think it through carefully and prepare properly, it can be a surgery with a very satisfying result. I plan to keep managing it steadily and look forward to becoming even more natural over time!
