5 months after double jaw surgery, swelling reduction process

I had double jaw surgery at [Clinic A] because of facial asymmetry, a square jaw, and a slight underbite. It's been about 5 months now. Until week 3, I felt like the swelling just would not go down, but once I entered week 4, I could really feel it suddenly decreasing. Still, my upper lip in particular looked unusually thick, so I figured that area would need more time. Around the 3-month mark, I could definitely feel the swelling in my upper lip had gone down compared with before, and overall I was living with a sense of satisfaction. Every time I looked in the mirror, my face line felt more refined than before, and I liked that part lol. In the 4th month, I felt that the swelling had gone down a lot more, and I was looking forward to the idea that once the braces came off, the upper lip area would settle in a little more naturally. The surgery itself seems to have gone well, so I was able to go through school life without any particular inconvenience, and the stress I felt about my face shape has decreased a lot, so I'm satisfied. It's been a little over 5 months since the surgery now, and honestly the lip area still feels a little thick. But the hospital said it will get better with time, and other than that I'm overall doing well and satisfied. At first I was worried about the swelling, but it's clear that the reduction is different each month, and it seems to be getting more and more natural. It may not be the final result yet, but up to now I feel more strongly that I made the right choice to have the surgery.
