Nose Surgery Reviews

Snub Nose Improvement Surgery

I had nose surgery. I believe it was at Nose & Young Clinic in Gwangju, an ENT and rhinoplasty clinic.

I had previously had nose surgery at another hospital, and after the silicone was removed my nose became slightly snub-nosed (it did not seem to be contracture). I asked around about good places in Seoul and Gwangju, but even in Seoul they did not really recommend much (they just told me to live with it!). So only now did I visit Nose & Young and have surgery with the director. The specific surgical details are as follows.

It was Thursday, June 10, 2026. I arrived at 10:00 a.m., went through the surgery consent and contract paperwork, had a preoperative posture consultation with the coordinator, took preoperative photos, then had a consultation with the director about the surgical method before going up to the operating room on the 3rd floor to wait. After washing my face, around 12:00 I lay down on the operating bed, the IV for anesthesia was inserted, antiseptic was applied to my face and inside my nose, and other detailed preparation for surgery was completed. The director came in, anesthesia was given, and after I briefly came to, the surgery was underway. I was told in advance that they would re-administer anesthesia and that I might wake up at points where it hurt, but I did not really perceive it. I did not realize when they re-administered anesthesia or when I woke up during the surgery.

Compared with other hospitals, even though the operation was long and I could not feel pain during it, it was not boring and I was able to have the surgery comfortably. The surgery took a long time, over 4 hours? It was not boring at all. Since it was a surgery to lower my nose tip, and also a revision surgery, the director operated for quite a long time, but I was deeply impressed by the very careful process, to the point that it was incomparable with other hospitals.

During the consultation, I was told it was a difficult surgery and that there would not be much effect, so I hesitated a lot before deciding. I figured it would be better to do it than not do it, and once I saw the actual surgical process, I had never met a doctor who impressed me this much. Even if the result is not satisfactory after 6 months, I will not blame the director. It felt like they were carrying out the surgery through action rather than words.

After surgery, when the nasal packing was removed, my nose had come down a lot, and when I asked the director, they said it had been lowered a lot. That reassured me. They gave me antibiotics and swelling injections every day for 1 week starting the day after surgery, and then from around the 2nd week? I got one-hour IV antibiotic and anti-swelling infusions, and I also received buttock antibiotic injections each time. The aftercare seems very thorough, perhaps even a bit excessive...

Looking back to before surgery, when I looked in the mirror the nostrils were the first thing I saw, and in photos my whole face looked vulgar because of the nostrils, so taking pictures was the most painful thing. Doctors also said it would not have a big effect, so I kept hesitating about whether I should have surgery. The reason I finally decided to do it was because I learned about Nose & Young in Gwangju.

Also, among people from Gwangju, many do not trust local clinics and prefer not to choose the province, assuming Seoul will be better, so I only thought about Seoul and went there to suffer through surgery and come back. But after looking at Nose & Young's website in Gwangju and watching the videos, I found that the director's mindset was sound and the explanation of the surgery convinced me that the skill was trustworthy. I also heard that the director trained abroad. Since they also practice as an ENT doctor, they seem confident about noses.

I am writing this review now, one month after surgery, and when I look in the mirror it is clear that my nose has improved compared with before, and the snub-nose impression is completely gone. They did not use silicone or anything like that, so it is amazing that even this short nose has become a little longer and the tip has come down. And above all, the postoperative care is solid. For the first week after surgery, I received daily swelling and antibiotic injections (buttocks and upper arm), and after that, at one-week intervals, I continued with IV treatment, so I can say the aftercare is thorough. There are many plastic surgery clinics in Gwangju, but I was often disappointed. I strongly recommend the director at this clinic.

I had surgery in Seoul before and had nowhere to stay, so I had to leave the next day and could not receive any aftercare at all. Please let go of the idea that Seoul is always better, and consider getting a consultation at Nose & Young ENT clinic.
