1. Nose line and swelling Compared with the 1-month mark, the residual swelling has gone down more, and the refined shape of the tip has improved noticeably. Because autologous costal cartilage was used to build a solid support, the tip has not dropped and has stayed nicely lifted, so I really love the side profile. It looks glamorous, yet still balanced for my face and natural.
2. Nose texture and facial expressions In the early stage after surgery, the tip was so hard that I was careful even when washing my face, but now, at 2 months, as the scar tissue has softened, the pulling feeling when I lengthen my philtrum or smile is much less. I think sensation has almost come back too. Of course, I’m still being careful with pig nose movements or strong impact.
3. Autologous costal cartilage harvest site (pain/scar) Pain: For about a week right after surgery, it was sore when breathing or getting up, but after a month the pain in daily life was almost gone. Scar: There is about a 1.5 cm reddish mark on the lower line area, but as time passes, I can see it gradually fading toward skin color.
4. Overall review Personally, I’m really glad I chose autologous costal cartilage instead of donor rib cartilage because I had less worry about side effects! I think the biggest advantage is that the shape stays strong without deforming. More than anything, the director at Louvre understood what I wanted very well, so I’m living with 200 percent satisfaction!
