My nose doesn't get blocked after removal of Medpor

Believe it or not, 12 years ago, in 2014, I had deviated septum surgery + rhinitis treatment + nasal augmentation at an ENT clinic. At that time, my number one priority was improving nasal function. I think the big reason I went through with it was because every time I visited the local ENT clinic, they told me I needed surgery for my deviated septum. This was around the time I had heard about the side effects of silicone and Gore-Tex, so I clearly said I would not put in silicone. I was only told that they would try to raise the bridge with ear cartilage, and if the nose height didn’t match during surgery, they could use donated costal cartilage. Since the deviated septum surgery was included, part of it would be covered by insurance, so I agreed right away and had the surgery.. After surgery, I was told that ear cartilage alone would have made the nose look hooked, so they used donated costal cartilage. My nose became so stiff that I couldn’t even squish it into a pig nose.. Right after surgery, I could breathe through both nostrils and thought things had improved. Before, the air from my nose just came downward in the direction of the nostrils, but after surgery it did shoot out toward the front at a 45-degree angle.. Also, I didn’t like that I used to make no sound when breathing out through my nose, but now I did.. Still, about a month later? My nose got so blocked that I went to a local ENT clinic, and that was when I was first prescribed a nasal spray and started using it. For 12 years since then, I’ve been using nasal spray regularly and washing my nose every day. And maybe about a year after surgery, while looking in the mirror in the car, I noticed that my nose was slightly pulled to the right of the philtrum. It bothered me, but.. Still, since I couldn’t really tell when looking in the mirror straight on, I just lived with it. What finally made me decide on revision surgery was that in every recent photo, my nose looked really crooked, which stressed me out, and the part where the ear cartilage had been inserted started to protrude too obviously as the skin got thinner. So after making up my mind, taking a long vacation, I had the removal surgery on 7/15, and revision surgery with autologous dermis on 7/21. I’m still puffy, so I look like an avatar, but for now the tip of my nose and my philtrum line up perfectly in a straight line, and I like the shape of the nose enough that I hope the dermis doesn’t get absorbed too much. And the reason I can’t regret the revision surgery is that a big piece of Medpor came out of my nose.. seriously, what the hell.. After the Medpor was removed, and the next day after the cotton packing was taken out, my nose was completely open. I was worried about nasal congestion, so I used nasal spray the day before surgery too. And today is day 9 since the first removal surgery, and even without nasal spray, my nose isn’t blocked. Even though I haven’t even been able to do my usual daily nasal rinsing. Before surgery, after using the spray for about 5 days, my nose would start getting blocked, and I never made it past 5 days. Maybe it was because the Medpor kept causing more inflammation, or maybe because it was blocking airflow inside my nose.. Either way, I’m so grateful to have an open nose. It feels like I’m living a new life. Even though I spent my 30s like that.. I hope none of you have anything sad happen because of your nose, and I’ll post a revision review soon with photos Fighting!
