Got capsular contracture, had silicone removed and reconstruction yesterday

(Long post ahead) I was diagnosed with capsular contracture two years ago, but I work and didn’t have time to stay in Korea long, so I only had surgery this time haha Since I live overseas, I first consulted by KakaoTalk with photos, videos, a description of my condition, and the capsular contracture diagnosis from two years ago at two of the main removal clinics plus five other plastic surgery clinics. About half said I’d need to come in for an in-person diagnosis, and the other half gave me some kind of answer about how they would operate: 1) Remove everything. The contracture won’t come back. Don’t worry. 2) Remove everything. If wanted, they can build a columellar strut. Because my nose was upturned, it might be better to support it, but if I didn’t want it, they wouldn’t do it. Dermis recommended. 3) Full removal + AlloDerm 4) Full removal + Megaderm + ear cartilage 5) The hospital that diagnosed the contracture two years ago: full removal + buttock dermis My nose from the first surgery: Gore-Tex + ear cartilage. My revision surgery: silicone + tip binding. It had been about 15 years since the revision. My original nose: bulbous nose with a slightly upturned nose. The nostrils showed a bit. The alae were not thick. It was just the kind of nose where the cartilage didn’t have enough support and spread out. Most of the hospitals I contacted said that if I came to Korea and made an appointment, I couldn’t get a surgery date immediately. Even counting at least the two weeks needed for follow-up, the schedule was too tight. So earlier this year, I spent nearly two months sleeping only three hours a night and digging through doctors’ blogs, websites, and reviews about nasal reconstruction. I even read posts from 2017 here. I didn’t know how to get my account upgraded, so I left a lot of comments and worked hard to collect 800 points, then read premium reviews for the hospitals I picked. lolol I was at peak mental breakdown then. While studying like that and using GPT and Gemini too, since my original nose was very soft and upturned, I felt that if I just removed the silicone after the contracture had already set in, there would be a chance of getting contracture again. So I leaned toward full removal + reconstruction, picked one of those hospitals, and booked the surgery date before coming to Korea. Right after entering Korea, I visited the next day and got a CT scan. After the CT, they said that at the reconstruction hospital I had been told the silicone was 5 mm and the tip had been bound, but in reality it was 2.8 mm to 2.4 mm silicone, and it was not just binding; they thought the septum may have been detached. There was a small white spot on the tip, and a white area near the septum. They said if the septum is detached, bone or something like that can be visible, which is why it looked that way. (I don’t remember exactly) My poor septum (ᵕ̣̣̣̣̣̣﹏ᵕ̣̣̣̣̣̣) I never thought that what I’d only heard about as opening it up would turn out to be a different material... They said a capsule formed around the silicone and pulled upward toward the glabella, and as the tip got pulled up, contracture seemed to have occurred. That matched what I had studied beforehand too. The CT showed the contracture was worse than I had thought. After talking with the doctor for about 30 to 40 minutes about how to do the surgery, I waited about two weeks and had surgery yesterday! haha The surgery was full removal + ear cartilage + alar reduction (this was not strictly necessary, I just wanted it) + Megaderm, done through an open approach. I’m writing this now because I can’t sleep while keeping my upper body elevated... I remember after my revision surgery that my bridge felt heavy and tender right after surgery, but this time I have no tenderness at all! Strange haha Right after surgery there was almost no swelling, but now my eye area is a bit swollen. I didn’t have packing inside the nose separately; I’m just using gauze under the nose. Also, for full removal, I think I need to watch the progress for 1 year, and possibly as long as 3 to 5 years. Especially if your case is like mine, with contracture and an original upturned nose, and you can’t give up on aesthetics, I think you should think carefully before doing full removal without question. There are cases where someone had an original upturned nose, got contracture, had full removal, and ended up even more upturned than before. It depends on the person, of course, but I absolutely couldn’t give up aesthetics, so full removal only was the first thing I ruled out. There can be side effects after removal such as uneven Megaderm or a crooked columella, but unless it becomes very obvious, I plan to live with it. I also think it helps to read a lot of surgery reviews, methods, and doctors’ blogs for cases similar to your own original nose. I really think knowing your own original nose is important... Before, I just went by recommendations from people saying someone was good and didn’t really research properly.. ^_^ I really paid money to get a problem and gain some enlightenment. Anyway, I couldn’t sleep so I wrote all this rambling, but thank you for reading~~ I had been waiting only for the surgery day, and now that it’s done I feel so relieved... I’ll come back with photo reviews after the splint is removed!! I won’t disclose the hospital name separately. Even if you send me a comment or DM, I still won’t tell you... I only just had the surgery myself, and since there are also dissatisfied reviews about that hospital, I’m afraid to recommend it carelessly to others. Please understand.. (If you look at the surgery method I had, you can probably narrow it down.)
