Back when overly aggressive outer canthoplasty and lower canthoplasty were in style, I also wanted my eyes to look as big as possible, so I asked them to open the corners as much as possible. But as time passed and everything healed, the outer corners of my eyes opened into a D shape and left a lot of scar tissue... It wasn’t so severe that anyone would immediately think it was a terrible complication, but the conjunctival exposure made my eyes very dry and irritated. Makeup looked fine, but bare-faced, the outer corners looked too artificial, so I had the correction done.
I only wanted the outer-corner shape restored without making my eyes smaller, so I read a lot of reviews and went to many consultations. Some places said the eyes would inevitably look smaller after revision, and others recommended secondary canthoplasty plus lower canthoplasty. But I didn’t want lower canthoplasty because smiling eyes would look too unnatural, and I hated the lower lashes turning inward. After looking around, I was introduced by an acquaintance and had surgery with Director Chae Soo-wook! It was outer canthoplasty correction plus reconstruction, and because they restored the shape while opening it further toward the back, my eyes do not look smaller and actually look bigger, so I am very satisfied!!!!!
Recovery took some time, so I did struggle emotionally... It was hard But I am satisfied with the result... If you tear the outer and lower corners apart carelessly, repair is really difficult and it becomes a huge emotional and financial burden.. so everyone should be careful about canthoplasty!!
