Hi everyone! I live in a provincial area and had nose surgery 5 years ago. Then at some point I came to realize that my nose had become a contracted nose, and from then on I started looking very hard for a clinic for revision nose surgery. This community really helped me a lot. Honestly, places like Gangnam [Clinic A], [Clinic B], and [Clinic C] seemed to have too much advertising, so I only used the photos as a reference. I did not know where to trust, but this community felt less like advertising, so I ended up visiting clinics mostly based on the recommendations everyone here gave.
I consulted at a total of 10 places.
Places 1 to 4 were clinics famous for revision nose surgery, places 5 to 10 were clinics famous for nose removal and reconstruction. [Clinic A] [Clinic B] [Clinic C] [Clinic D] [Clinic E] [Clinic F] [Clinic G] [Clinic H] [Clinic I] [Clinic J]
In fact, I knew I had contracture, but I had no idea how severe my condition was or whether it was serious. So at first I mainly looked into revision nose surgery clinics, but as I went to consultations, reality gradually became clearer. 'I may not just need to make it pretty again; I may need to find a clinic that is good at removal or reconstruction.' Once I started thinking that, I naturally began looking into removal and reconstruction clinics too.
Still, I did have my own criteria when looking for a clinic. A place famous for revision nose surgery or nose removal and reconstruction A place whose design matched the aesthetic I was going for (when I was considering revision surgery, I wanted a flashy style, but while looking into removal and reconstruction, how natural it was became more important.) A place with a director whose aesthetic sense was good (especially for removal and reconstruction clinics, I looked very hard at reviews centered on natural results.)
When I first got a consultation at a revision surgery clinic, there was one place I liked the most. They did not over-recommend all kinds of things; they talked only about the necessary parts, and when they actually touched my nose and explained the problems and what was needed, I found it trustworthy. Still, I was worried. 'Is this right?' 'Is this really the best choice?' I live in a provincial area, so my time was limited, and going back and forth to Seoul was not easy. But because I did not want to fail this time, I did not decide right away and went back down to look up a ton of posts on this community. The additional clinics I learned about that way were places 5 through 10.
What I learned after going to so many consultations was that every director had a completely different direction. Some said I should absolutely not do it, some said it would be fine, some said to put it back in... The opinions were so different from clinic to clinic that, honestly, I became even more confused. As I kept going to consultations, I met directors who understood the direction I wanted, and in the end I narrowed it down to two places. I really agonized until the very end. The clinic I finally chose was good, but the other clinic I kept considering seemed like they would do a very good job too. Still, in the end I decided on the clinic that understood my concerns best and whose consultation direction matched mine well, and now I have already booked the surgery. I think I was able to get this far thanks to the reviews and information everyone shared here. So I wanted to leave a post too, in case it helps someone else. What may just be one review to one person can be really important information to someone else, and I learned that this time.
And this is a real TMI, but... The hospital where I had my first surgery was in the provinces, right? But while going to consultations, I found out that the hospital is actually pretty famous in Seoul too... haha Not in a good way, though. It meant that more people than I expected had surgery there and then came to Seoul for revision consultations. Honestly, hearing that was shocking. I had only thought of it as a well-known provincial clinic, and I did not know it was that widely known in Seoul too. In a way, I even resented my past self for making that choice... What was even funnier was that while I was going around for consultations, I met someone who had also had surgery at the same clinic lol That person probably did not know, but the moment the clinic name came up, my ears perked up instantly. It seems that among people looking into revision surgery or removal and reconstruction, information gets shared more than I expected. So even more, I hope a space like this community stays around for a long time. I hope there will be more honest reviews and experiences from people who actually had surgery, rather than ads or brokers, and that it keeps being a place that helps people who are desperately searching for information like I was.
