Breathing difficulty + worsening snoring + drooping nasal tip + a bulge on the bridge of the nose + possible cartilage? silicone? visibility. I went for a follow-up at 11 months after revision, and the surgeon said: if breathing is uncomfortable, then all the implant should be removed and I have to live with a collapsed nose; once I get used to it, it will feel less uncomfortable. For the snoring, he said I should change my sleeping position or pillow, or lose weight.
He said the visible tip is normal, and if it were about to break through, the skin would already have peeled off. He said the bridge bulge is because my skin is thick. If I do not like it, I need to raise the tip even more. But then breathing would be even harder and the tip would droop again.
I asked if the tip and bridge could be lowered just a little, and he said no. He said either remove it and live with a collapsed nose, or raise the tip more and let it droop, one of the two. I am simplifying a lot, but I got so annoyed that I kept talking back, and then he cut me off, told me to book a revision surgery date, and sent me out crying.
I do not want complete removal, so I am thinking about removal followed by revision surgery. Is it over the top to have the removal done here? I have not consulted any other hospital yet. There are too many things to look into and my head hurts.
