Nose Surgery Reviews

After 2 months, my first rhinoplasty with donor rib cartilage feels like my own nose

It was my first surgery, so I was very worried about side effects, and I was the kind of scaredy-cat who worried until the day before surgery that I might end up with one of those obviously operated-on, Gangnam-style noses... My nose was so short and low that the blunt shape was a complex for me, so after a long period of real deliberation, it has already been two months since I had surgery with Dr. Choo Seong-cheol at D-Day Plastic Surgery near Sinsa Station.

Because my nose is on the short side, he said that if it is not supported with a solid material, it could lift again later or the line could sag, so he built a pillar with a combination of septal cartilage + donor rib cartilage, and used 4 mm silicone for the bridge! Even when I wrote my one-month review, I liked the shape, but the tip still felt heavy and stiff, so I was a bit concerned. But now that I am entering the two-month mark, it is amazing how that hardness has relaxed a lot and I can feel the tissue becoming softer. The sensation of something foreign has clearly decreased when I move or make facial expressions, so I am just living so comfortably as if it had always been my original nose.

What I worried about most was the tip looking pinched, and I was truly anxious about that. But it feels like Dr. Choo understood my needs perfectly... There is not even a trace of a pinched look, while still giving the tip volume in a refined way, and only the lifted part was brought down naturally, so I think I got the elegant straight-but-slightly-defined line I wanted! The side profile now has just the right amount of dimension, so the empty space in my face looks smaller too, and the overall atmosphere feels much more refined!! I chose a one-doctor clinic because the feel of a large hospital did not suit me, and since the doctor personally handled every step of the follow-up from start to finish, my mental state was managed well throughout recovery too! Time really is the best medicine!!
