I had surgery in November 2024 with donated rib cartilage + silicone for the nose tip, but starting about a week ago I began to feel pain and tenderness in the glabella area? and also swelling, so I went back to the hospital where I had the surgery. Even without a CT, just by looking at it they said it was definitely inflammation and that the implant had to be removed.
I have not done anything risky for the nose at all, like smoking or drinking, so I honestly do not know what the problem is. Maybe my nose contracture was already destined to happen within 1-2 years, and I just happened to be the unlucky one? According to the doctor, something definitely must have happened (I was just staying home, seriously), and since it could not have progressed this quickly, it sounds like the contracture had actually been progressing for quite some time.
That makes me wonder whether the first surgery was not done properly in the first place. Anyway, they said the implant has to be removed and I have to wait 6 months before a revision surgery, so I am starting to think whether blaming the doctor is even the important issue anymore... I also think it would be better to have the implant removal done at a different hospital instead of this one. If the contracture has progressed this much, should I first find a revision-surgery hospital and get a proper CT and ultrasound? I do not want to go through this again, so I feel really unsettled. I do not regret having the surgery, but I have seen too many cases where one revision surgery was not enough, so I feel really dark about what comes next, seriously T_T
