When I went for a consultation, a staff member flipped through a booklet and walked me through it, and I wondered what that was about. Back then, the idea of deciding on surgery without a consultation with the director felt burdensome. (Honestly, I still feel that way.) But now, after having surgery at another clinic, then revision surgery, and after a long time has passed, I wonder what that even meant. In the end, you go into the operating room anyway, so you do not even remember what was said before. If I could go back, I would just go to a director with a lot of experience.
