This was the place I came to thinking it would be my last hospital.
I had a truly tiny nose, and when I was 20 I had my first surgery with Gore-Tex and ear cartilage. After 10 years, the Gore-Tex warped and my skin became thin, and the tip of my nose was starting to bulge out into a round shape. For revision surgery, I visited famous hospitals all over Gangnam and had a second tip revision, but that only lasted less than 3 years too. I came here before my nasal tip really broke through.
They specialize in autologous dermis surgery, and the doctor is someone who only does nose revision surgery with autologous dermis, so I felt confident. I did not want to suffer from side effects anymore.
In the first surgery, they removed the Gore-Tex and ear cartilage, and one week later they raised the bridge and tip with autologous dermis. Once they removed the implant compressing the bridge, breathing felt different. I had no idea breathing could be this comfortable! After the implant was removed, my flat nose was exposed, and I felt like it would be so painful to live the rest of my life like that. But I also did not want to go back to a silicone nose that had caused severe side effects.
The second surgery with autologous dermis was so satisfying. First of all, I loved that there was no foreign material in my nose, and it was amazing that the nose could be raised without an implant. Since there was nothing protruding the way silicone does, the shape looked so natural and life became easier. When I had an implant nose before, if my child accidentally bumped my nose, it hurt so much I felt like I might faint, but now I could just live naturally.
And so my last surgery of my life was over. But then another problem came up, with my mother. My mother had a silicone nose surgery 30 years ago, and since she had relatively thick skin, she lived without any worries. But after decades passed, calcification progressed and contracture developed. My issue was the tip, but for my mother, the area beside the bridge caved in. I brought my mother here too and had her treated. In the first surgery, the silicone was removed, and in the second, the bridge and tip were raised with autologous dermis, and no one could tell she had surgery.
My mother and I both suffered from nose surgery complications and were shaken by anxiety, but I was so satisfied that they removed the problem here and then created a defined nose with autologous dermis instead of leaving it flat.
It felt like my relationship with nose surgery was finally over, but then another problem happened with my grandmother. My grandmother, who is now 82, had silicone nose surgery at a hospital in Seongnam decades ago, and as she aged and her skin weakened, the silicone broke through the skin. This miserable nose surgery complication really is something else. When I contacted the hospital where my grandmother had the surgery, they were so curt! So my grandmother also received nose treatment at Bombit. Because of her age, she did not have a revision surgery with dermis.

To be honest about the pros and cons:
Pros 1. For noses with side effects, autologous dermis seems to be the answer. They do not use an implant; they wrap your own fat thickly and place it in the nose, and it gives height, a rounded tip, and a pretty defined shape.
2. The doctor is not exceptionally warm, but he has specialized in autologous dermis for more than 25 years, so I trust him. He never uses materials that cause side effects, and only using autologous dermis feels like what a truly conscientious doctor would do. Silicone or other implants are uncomfortable, and someday they will cause side effects.
3. There is a hospital cafe on Naver here, and it is nice to be able to read reviews. There are a huge amount of accumulated posts and reviews from one week after surgery, one month after, one year after, and even ten years after, so I really read through everything and got information from it. Seeing so many people living with natural, pretty noses even after 5, 10, 15, and 20 years helped me feel reassured.
Cons The second surgery is performed about 4 or 5 days after the first surgery to remove the implant that caused the side effects. In fact, that is safer because it clears out all the inflammation in the nose before surgery, but it still feels burdensome to have surgery twice. Still, if you think of it as your final surgery, I think it should be done properly without any remaining inflammation.
This is absolutely not an ad, just an honest review. Thinking about how not only I but also my mother and grandmother suffered because of nose surgery makes me want to strongly stop anyone who says they want to use silicone. I think revision surgery should always be done with safe materials. If an implant goes into a nose that already has side effects, side effects will happen again. But you cannot give up a defined nose and live with a blunt nose, can you? When I think about that, the answer really is autologous dermis.
I trust this hospital more than one that does both silicone and autologous dermis, because this one has specialized in autologous dermis alone for over 20 years. If you are suffering because of your nose, I recommend coming to Bombit as if it were the last surgery of your life.
