I have quite an extensive history of double-eyelid surgery(?).. I have had both partial-incision and buried-suture methods, and this time was another revision. So if anything, I deliberated a lot about whether it was right to alter anything further this time..
I thought it would be nice if only the inner part of my current crease showed a little more, so I went in considering upper canthoplasty, but after consulting, they said it was not necessary. After looking at the type of eyes I wanted, they explained that in my current condition, rather than adding upper canthoplasty, it would be better to re-establish the existing crease.
In the end, I had revision surgery with triple buried sutures only, without upper canthoplasty. Honestly, I also thought a little that adding this and that might make me prettier, but rather than simply agreeing with everything I said, the consultant distinguished what was necessary for my eyes and what I did not need to do. I think that was actually very reassuring.
More than anything, because this was my nth revision, before surgery I felt much more strongly, “This time it really has to turn out okay..,” than excitement. But when I look at my crease now, I am glad I did not go as far as upper canthoplasty. It feels like only the parts that disappointed me were refined without straying too far from my original eyes. Since I had had eye surgery several times, I thought it would be harder to satisfy me, but I quite like this crease. I had heard the director was also very good at revisions, and they truly are the best.. Now I really want to graduate from double-eyelid surgery 😌
