Review of Surgery for Severe Hump Nose and Deviated Nose

I had a deviated nose with a dorsal hump. From one side it did not look severe, but from the other side the hump was severe. The surgery included hump osteotomy, deviated-nose correction, nasal tip surgery using donated costal cartilage, and cartilage suturing. I told them that some hump could remain and that I wanted the most natural result possible. Because it was not done under sedation, I was somewhat afraid, but before the surgery was finished, I could decide the height of my nasal tip while looking in a mirror. That was really good. Functional changes: My snoring has decreased. I did not know breathing could feel this comfortable. I have experienced all four seasons, and I can clearly feel that nasal congestion has decreased. Appearance changes: The hump has improved greatly, but as the deviated nose was straightened, the hump also looks natural and my overall impression is much cleaner. I used to be self-conscious about my face from the right side, but after surgery I no longer think about it at all.
