Double-Jaw Surgery Reviews

One-year review of asymmetry correction.

This is my one-year review of asymmetry correction. It seems that the height difference in my temporomandibular joints was adjusted for over six months, and it has been a little less than six months since I began wearing the appliance in earnest. I feel that the changes after wearing the appliance happened faster than expected. I still have asymmetry when I close my teeth together because there is also an issue with my dental occlusion, but when I do not close my teeth, I feel it has improved tremendously. As a result, I can really feel what I was told about needing to continue with orthodontic treatment as well. Wearing the appliance is still tedious and somewhat uncomfortable, but after adapting to it to some extent, I have become quite used to it. When I travel, though, it is a little inconvenient to portion out dish detergent to clean the appliance. Still, compared with the internal stress I used to experience because of the asymmetry, it is nothing. What I have felt during treatment is that, if I am going to do it anyway, it is better to do it early. It has improved tremendously compared with a year ago, so I am looking forward to the day the treatment is completely finished. I will continue to post reviews periodically.
