Military Nose Surgery (RU 3D DCF) Review

Since high school, I had thought that I should get nose surgery after being discharged from the military. Preoperative testing later found that my nasal septum was severely deviated, so I began considering functional nasal surgery to improve that along with the breathing discomfort I had already been experiencing. I learned about RU Plastic Surgery through Instagram. I ultimately chose it because I felt it had expertise in nose surgery using autologous costal cartilage. During the consultation, the director showed me various reference materials, from the sterilization process to expected postoperative design results, and explained everything step by step. This made me feel that I could minimize the risks I was concerned about, such as contracture caused by infection or an outcome different from what I expected, so I decided on functional rhinoplasty. I had the RU 3D DCF procedure: a custom-made 3D mold filled with diced autologous costal cartilage was used to raise the bridge, and autologous costal cartilage was also used for the tip. In addition, I had alar reduction and surgery to improve rhinitis-related conditions (septal deviation and inferior turbinate hypertrophy). Early after surgery, there was some discomfort during recovery, including swelling, tightness, and blood-tinged nasal discharge, but most of it improved around day 7. Pain at the rib-cartilage donor site lasted until week 2, like muscle soreness after working out the previous day. Now at two weeks, I am satisfied with the shape. It turned out in the direction I wanted, which is a relief, and I look forward to further swelling reduction and complete recovery.
