My dorsal hump was fairly severe, so from the side my nasal contour looked uneven, and my overall impression looked somewhat strong and masculine T_T. I had seen a close acquaintance suffer greatly from silicone complications, so I deliberated over rhinoplasty itself for a long time. I decided to at least visit some clinics, and consulted Dr. Hwang Se-hwi at ID. Looking at reviews, Dr. Hwang seemed to perform more revision rhinoplasties than primary surgeries. I think I decided on this place because getting my first surgery from a surgeon specializing in revisions might let me finish rhinoplasty in one operation without needing revision surgery.
At the consultation, I told them from the beginning that I was uncomfortable with silicone. I said that while correcting the hump, I wanted my nose to look slender and soft overall. After much deliberation, I decided to use a truly thin layer of silicone. Honestly, I was worried about this right up until surgery, but after hearing the doctor's explanation, I felt this amount was worth trying.
Now I like that the side contour where the hump was has become smooth, but I like even more how slender my nose looks from the front, haha. Before, my nasal bones stood out and made the center of my face look blunt, whereas now the nasal line itself looks much softer. And the masculine look I disliked most has diminished considerably. It has not changed into an extremely high, dramatic nose, but correcting just the hump and making the nose slimmer changed my image much more than I expected, lol. I worried so much about silicone, and now I find myself looking at my nasal contour in the mirror, haha. I had so many concerns because it was my first rhinoplasty, but I am satisfied because it seems to have turned out with the slender look I wanted from Dr. Hwang Se-hwi at ID!
