Before before after after after after before surgery I ended up having cheekbone reduction and rhinoplasty together. First, the reason I chose the hospital was that I usually had a lot of stress about my cheekbones and face shape. On the day I went to get an eyelash perm, the teacher who did it had had cheekbone reduction surgery, and she firmly told me that for bone surgery, it absolutely has to be Seoul, so I searched online through plastic surgery apps for hospitals in Seoul. I live in Busan, and because of work I couldn’t go back and forth to Seoul often, so I did a lot of online research. Honestly, I’m also the type who finds it bothersome to go around for in-person consultations. I looked into two places in Gangnam, and at the other place there were many directors for facial contouring, so I didn’t know whom to choose and it felt kind of random. I trusted this place more because there was one doctor specializing in facial contouring, so I chose it. I’ve had various plastic surgeries + procedures before, but I had always succeeded through online research, so I went thinking I was already set on having surgery here! Since I was coming from Busan, I had train times and there was waiting time, so after consulting with the consultant, I couldn’t have a very detailed consultation with the director. But after looking at my face, he said right away that my face would turn out well, and I was so excited and happy. My nose wasn’t something I was that stressed about, but these days there are so many people with pretty noses, and I’d had filler 3 times over 7 years, so after the consultation I thought it wouldn’t be bad to do it together while I was at it, and I decided on cheekbones + nose haha For my nose, the filler had spread a bit, and the nasal bridge itself was wide, so he said we should do osteotomy. I also disliked that my nasal tip was blunt and my alar base looked spread out, but he said that if we lifted the tip, it would likely narrow without necessarily doing alar reduction, so I think I really liked that he didn’t push this and that unnecessarily.
After surgery I arrived one hour before surgery and prepared for it. After I lay down, only a few minutes passed before general anesthesia started, and I really passed out. When I opened my eyes, I was so out of it, but the last teacher who stayed there helped me really hard. When I was lying in the recovery room, about four hours had passed since the surgery, and I was honestly in so much pain.. I went in prepared because I’d heard general anesthesia makes your throat hurt, but it was beyond what I imagined, and I think I just kept thinking I had to endure it.
*Cheekbone + nose surgery day to day 3 The swelling was really, really severe. My right eye almost disappeared, so I looked so ugly, but my face was so funny to me.. My nose was also cold and stinging, blood came out, I couldn’t smile because of the intraoral incision for the cheekbones, I couldn’t open my mouth, and everything was painful .. The day after surgery, they removed the cotton packing inside my nose. I didn’t know removing the cotton would be that painful, but once it was removed, I could breathe, and from then on it became a bit more bearable.
*Day 4 to one week From this point, the pain didn’t even matter, and it was a war against swelling. I went for walks, took swelling medicine, drank pumpkin juice, and did everything I could. I wanted to get a swelling injection, but they said because of the rhinoplasty, I had to wait until some time had passed ㅜㅡㅜ At one week, I had the nasal splint and stitches removed. I was really worried about my nose, but it was so pretty that I think I just took photos all day .. Even before splint removal, the nose director said that there had been some bleeding during surgery so the swelling was severe, but the surgery had gone well, so I had felt reassured. After removal too, I loved the line, and I had wanted it to be natural, and it was so natural that I was satisfied. I also looked at the before-and-after CT with the facial contouring director. Because of the swelling I couldn’t really tell, but my cheekbones had really been cut down by half, so I was so moved that I sent the CT photos to all my acquaintances that day.
*Currently) 4 days until week 4 I saw many reviews saying that for other people, the major swelling is all gone by 2 weeks, but mine was so severe from the beginning that it only became somewhat presentable around week 3 .. I think I still have some swelling in my cheeks, so I hope it goes down quickly. Everyone says my nose is pretty but natural, and that they’d believe it if I said it was my original nose. They say my whole face turned out naturally well haha First of all, when I touch my lateral cheekbones, the part that used to protrude is just straight now, so I’m so happy. My nose is also just perfectly pretty even without contour shading, so these days doing makeup feels fun. Because of my cheekbones, even when I went outside wearing a hat, I never took off my mask even once, but now I can confidently go around without a mask. I’m the type who gets very stressed about my appearance, so after surgery my self-esteem has gone up a lot in many ways!
At first it was so hard and I wondered if I’d done it for nothing, but if you just endure exactly 3 days, after that you think, as expected, I’m glad I did it. I’m really satisfied haha
