I was told that only the septal cartilage was used in the first surgery, but at this hospital alone they touched the tip of my nose and said that if it had this level of firmness, it did not seem like only septal cartilage had been used. They said the tip shape would be expected to become more pointed over time. I went into surgery with 1 hour of sleep anesthesia plus local anesthesia and ear cartilage prepared (they said ear cartilage might be used, but they always prepare it before surgery and go in with it).
