14 years ago, I had surgery with L-shaped silicone and ear cartilage for the nasal tip. As time passed, the pressure from the silicone, redness, and foreign-body sensation gradually got worse, so I was looking into revision nose surgery. At that time, the doctor recommended that removing only the implant could also be an option, so I went ahead with removal only. There is still some swelling, but it seems to have been removed cleanly, so I am satisfied. The doctor is a bit on the blunt side, but because the surgery was done so carefully, my recovery is going well too. Actually, my original nose was on the low side, so I felt like having only removal would leave me with a strong sense of loss, and I had been thinking only about revision surgery. At other hospitals, I heard many times that simply removing the silicone could leave bumps or height differences, which made me uneasy.
