I had my nose implant removed. Until now, I thought I only had silicone and ear cartilage in there.. I guess you really don’t know until they open it up.. Medpor was sitting there as a support strut.. It was even layered over the silicone, and if they had just properly told the patient about the surgical materials, I wouldn’t have had this harsh material inside me for 20 years.. I really want to sue. Anyway, the Medpor caused contracture, damaged the tissues, and even caused calcification of the bone... Still, I got a lot of information from a community, went for consultations at the top three places and about 4 other clinics, and then decided. It was in a difficult state to remove, but it was removed well. I’m the type who bleeds a lot and I’m on the older side, but I guess the bleeding was controlled well, because the cotton packing was removed after just 2 days, and the splint + stitches were removed on day 5. People around me also say the swelling isn’t severe and that my recovery is good.. so I’m taking comfort in that, at least. Right now my nose looks upturned because it’s swollen, but they said it will come down once the swelling goes down, so I’m praying. For now, it hasn’t even been a week since surgery, so I’ll focus on recovering and write again later.
