Nose Re-Surgery

Can I attend an in-law family event (mother-in-law’s birthday meal) 10 days after revision rhinoplasty?

I finally have my revision rhinoplasty scheduled for this Thursday, but I’m worried because my schedule overlaps too much. The clinic says that by day 8, the bruising and swelling will be almost gone, so daily life is totally possible, you know? But maybe because it’s revision surgery, I feel unnecessarily anxious, so I’d like to ask for advice from people with experience.

There are exactly two situations I’m worried about right now.

1. My mother-in-law’s birthday meal 10 days after surgery I have to go to my in-laws’ and personally prepare her birthday meal. On day 10, will it be obvious enough that I’d feel embarrassed seeing the elders? I’m also worried that cooking and moving around might be too much for my body.

2. Traveling abroad 5 weeks after surgery If I do it this week, I’ll have plenty of recovery time before departure, but the in-law family event is the issue... If I just have the birthday celebration first and do the surgery 3 weeks before departure, I’m worried whether it’ll be okay to fly.

How does it seem to those of you who’ve experienced this?

How much bruising or swelling is there on day 10 after revision surgery? Would an in-law family event be possible?

Or would it be better to just have the surgery 3 weeks before departure? I’m curious whether 3 weeks is enough time to recover!

Can I trust only what the clinic says and go ahead with it? I’d really appreciate realistic advice from those with more experience!
