My nose is uneven. The nostril sizes are not very different. But when viewed from below, it looks like a triangle shifted to one side, so the nostril positioning has become strange. Simply put, it feels like the center of the nasal tip has rotated. From the front, the nostril on the side it shifted toward looks pointed forward, and the nostril on the side being pulled along lies sideways and looks wide. Because of that, my nose looks even more deviated toward that side. The director just told me not to obsess over the nostrils and to live with it. Even though the nasal tip has drooped, making it look like Squidward’s nose and an Arab-style nose, he still told me to just live with it? No matter how much I know people’s faces are not perfectly symmetrical, my original nostrils were not this uneven. I said it’s okay if they look a bit different from below, but because they look like this from the front, it feels like my nose has rotated, and I complained about it. He said it does look a bit that way to him too, but since I’m only 2 months post-op, I should wait for it to return. He said that if the nostrils still haven’t returned by the time surgery is possible, he would take responsibility. In this kind of case, do I have to pay even part of the revision/aftercare cost?
익명 From stories on YouTube, I’ve seen cases where people even had to pay for material costs.
mimomi [@] They do seem to make people pay a certain fee or material costs for revision surgery... But this isn’t a matter of my personal preference. I even went in asking for an early correction, but they told me to wait because the nostril would return. Even so, the idea that I have to pay money, take on the risk of a third surgery, and spend more time makes me wonder if this is right. I was asking because I wondered if anyone had it done for free.
인생바 When they explained things before surgery, was there no information about revision/aftercare?
mimomi [@인생바] When I asked if there was absolutely no possibility of side effects, he said he doesn’t push things to the point where side effects would occur, and if a patient asks for too much and he’s concerned about side effects, he just won’t do the surgery. Also, I didn’t even know the concept of revision/aftercare existed. I thought that even if it failed, I would have to pay all the costs myself no matter what. With my failed first surgery, I only found out later that the first hospital had lots of issues, like ghost surgery and salaried doctors, so I just thought I had bad luck. But only after my failed revision did I realize there was such a large community and so much varied advice.
인생바 [@mimomi] Hmm, I reread the post above, and I think I’d look for another hospital rather than revision/aftercare. It’s already a hospital that messed things up once, and the director seems more self-assured than expected. If he’s like that, even if he does the revision/aftercare, I don’t know what he might do to me...
Dbio14 Even if they say they’ll provide revision/aftercare for revision surgery, it seems like you shouldn’t always do it there. They already messed it up, so what’s the point of trying to salvage it there?
