Double-Jaw Surgery Reviews

Before and after double-jaw surgery for malocclusion, written 6 months post-op…

It has already been 6 months since I had double-jaw surgery. At first, each day felt like it passed slowly, but looking back now, my daily life has recovered so much that it feels as if half a year went by in an instant, and my life has become much more comfortable. The reason I first decided to have surgery was the malocclusion I had experienced for a long time. I had felt discomfort in my jaw since I was young, but I just put up with it. As I became an adult, my reduced chewing function, sounds from my temporomandibular joint, and facial asymmetry gradually worsened, so I eventually began seriously looking into double-jaw surgery methods. In particular, I developed a habit of chewing food only on one side, and I was also under a lot of stress about my appearance, so I decided to have surgery. I was working at the time, so I did feel burdened by the recovery period, but I thought my quality of life after surgery was much more important, so I went for it, and now I do not regret that decision at all. To find a place that is good at double-jaw surgery, I had detailed consultations at several hospitals, and in the end I chose Director Shin Hee-jin at an oral and maxillofacial surgery clinic located in Sinsa-dong. Thanks to the extensive surgical experience, systematic examinations, and detailed explanations, I developed trust even before the surgery, and I was very satisfied with the actual surgery and recovery process as well. In particular, vivid double-jaw surgery reviews from people who had undergone the surgery were a great help in making my decision, and even now I think this was a very good choice. Of course, right after surgery, there was a heavy feeling and swelling around the philtrum, under the jaw, and below the ears, and I did experience some symptoms known as double-jaw surgery side effects, such as having to be careful when opening my mouth wide. However, most of the discomfort recovered quickly from the 3-month mark, and now it has almost disappeared. Looking at the before-and-after changes from double-jaw surgery, my facial contours became much clearer and the asymmetry improved greatly, so my confidence increased a lot. The change was natural enough that acquaintances I met after a long time asked, “Something looks different, what did you do?” From the 3-month mark, I was able to eat most foods without much difficulty, and from around 4 to 5 months, I recovered enough to eat tough foods like meat or tteokbokki. Currently, I am eating well without any special dietary restrictions, and the only slightly uncomfortable thing is wearing elastics during orthodontic treatment. Of course, there is still some subtle awkwardness in my facial expression muscles and a sense of tension when opening my mouth wide, but I expect these will also recover more naturally with time. Overall, if I were to leave a double-jaw surgery review, now that 6 months have passed, I am very satisfied with the surgical results, and I feel that I have fully returned to daily life. Once my orthodontic treatment is completed and my facial contours become more stable, I think I will be even more satisfied than I am now. For anyone who is considering double-jaw surgery, I would like to say that if you find the double-jaw surgery method that suits you through sufficient consultation and information gathering, and have surgery at a trustworthy place that is good at double-jaw surgery, it can definitely be a meaningful choice that improves your quality of life.
