After only thinking about it for several years, I’ve made up my mind this time and am planning to go for consultations once more soon and have it removed. After spending the past few years browsing this community, I’ve gained a lot of certainty. But I still have questions about removing the support graft.
For example, people say that if you remove the support graft, the nose lifts up. Opinions differ here.
There are cases where it does lift up a little in reality (in those cases, when other people see the photos, it’s at the level of “where exactly is it lifted?” and only the person themselves can tell), but in most cases it seems to come down.
Conversely, if removing the support graft causes drooping, wouldn’t it be better to do cartilage tying?
Doctors say that’s not possible; they say it lifts by the amount of the empty space left by the support graft....
If the original nose had a somewhat drooping columella and a drooping nasal tip, then after removal, I wonder if it would be right to first release the tying and then tie it again. (They say it lifts by the amount of the empty space, but people also say this comes down too.)
What do you think?
And I don’t think it ever becomes a completely third nose. It seems to become somewhere between your pre-surgery nose and post-surgery nose. Some people say that when removing silicone, the height looks a bit higher. Still, if the nose is definitely bulbous or like that, I think you have to take into account that it may spread after removal.
(Even that often seemed to be at a level other people couldn’t notice.)
