I started when I entered high school and finished in about 3 and a half years. My teeth didn’t move very well, so it took about 6 months longer than planned. I have fairly developed jaw joints, so (not to the point of needing double-jaw surgery) I proceeded without extractions, had the spaces between the molars slightly reduced, and used a device to widen the maxillary and mandibular alveolar bone. The orthodontic cost was about 5 million won, including the down payment + monthly fees + various appliance costs. Right now I wear my retainer when sleeping, and I have a fixed retainer attached. I was pretty diligent about wearing the retainer, and honestly there are probably only one or two days a year when I sleep without it. Thanks to that, every year when I go for my checkup, I get praised Now that my teeth are aligned, my confidence has gone up a lot, and I also get compliments that my smile is pretty, so I’m very satisfied with the orthodontics.
