Nose Surgery Reviews

Review advising against donated dermis (Megaderm)

I rushed into researching and having revision surgery, and now I deeply regret it. When I first researched, I had seen posts about the downsides of Megaderm, but I must have been blinded by something and completely fell for claims that it would be fine with an experienced doctor and so on. Even an experienced doctor cannot predict how much will be absorbed in each patient. Since it will be absorbed to some extent, they simply insert it higher. Then for several months, you inevitably end up looking as if a piece of chalk has been stuck in your nose... Still, it would be fortunate if it became natural after a few months... I haven’t felt any advantages so far, so I’ll list the disadvantages. Personally, I think silicone gives the nicest shape, is easy to remove, and seems safest. Disadvantage 1. It has been a month, but the bridge area is still blunt, and the sides of my nose look very awkward, as if shading had been drawn on them. The skin over the area containing Megaderm looks white, or whatever to call it—anyway, it is noticeable and strange. The clinic says it will take several months to look natural, but how long am I supposed to stay like this...? 2. My nasal tip, which uses ear cartilage, is also a failed case, so I don’t know whether I’ll need another full revision. They say Megaderm is difficult to remove after it is absorbed, and because it is hard to take time off work, the psychological burden is enormous. Before surgery, I brushed off the problem of difficult removal, thinking, “Surely my surgery won’t go wrong,” but now that it has become my problem, it is truly no small matter. 3. After a month, the clinic told me I needed to massage it. I had seen this while searching before surgery too, but for some reason it didn’t register. Anyway, the doctor said to think of it as molding and do it for ten minutes a day? In this busy modern life, doing this makes me suddenly question everything. I paid a lot for surgery, and now they’re telling me to shape my own nose. This is about the doctor: their attitude changed completely before and after surgery. They weren’t particularly kind even before surgery, but afterward they displayed photos of what had gone wrong, refused to acknowledge it, and treated me like a difficult patient haha. I’d rather not disclose the clinic information, but I had it done at a clinic that is frequently mentioned in this community. (Don’t assume it’s safe just because it is frequently mentioned.) I also saw posts about other problems with this clinic.
