I don’t know if it’s because I had surgery myself, or because I listed each hospital’s pros and cons too much while researching revision surgery, or because I explained in the comments why I ruled places out... but I got reported five times
I don’t think there’s anyone like me who spent an absurd amount of money and still had the surgery in a scrupulously honest way Since I don’t have much money, my allowance and the money my mom and dad saved little by little were pooled together, and they told me not to sell my personal information (photos) and to pay everything and get the surgery done. So I had the surgery without agreeing to any of those common photo discounts or review-writing consent things
So brokers, seriously, stop being so annoying... Consumers have a right to know too. You mess things up, ruin them, and then expect consumers not to know without doing any cleanup afterward. I think that mentality is bad
So, for everyone’s public benefit, I’m openly sharing the pros and cons of the hospitals on the list I researched through both online and in-person effort. If you ask even more detailed questions, it might get reported again, so I hope you understand that this is really the extent of the disclosure for the public good If this post gets more reports, I’m just going to take it down
Among my list, if there’s a hospital that you really... really think absolutely has to be removed so the revision surgery won’t fail, please tell me
<My current nose and what I want>
1. I didn’t want a long nose to be made long and high so it wouldn’t look like a drooping hooked nose, but rather wanted a nose where the long nose itself becomes shorter and where the nostrils aren’t very visible from the front -> It ended up exactly the way I hate: the nose length stayed the same, and it was made long and high, so it’s not a hooked nose, but I just became someone with a longer nose like Squidward
2. I wanted the length from the alar base (nose base) to the tip of the nostrils to be longer than the length from the tip of the nostrils to the nasal tip (from below, the vertical length of the nostrils should be longer than the distance from the nostril tip to the nasal tip) -> This is satisfying... it came out exactly like that
3. I prefer a short, refined nose that doesn’t look like a turned-up nose. For the columella, I prefer letting it come down in a rounded way rather than cutting it all the way -> It was rounded out, but it ended up drooping instead... It’s natural, but it doesn’t suit my face. In another sense, only the nose stands out
<Revision surgery hospital list>
1. Obli (ㅇㅂㄹ) - Director Kim Da-alm (aesthetic match 65-70%)
Pros - The aesthetic direction fits me best - Seems to mainly handle long-nose and hump-nose cases like mine - Shortens long noses the best while keeping the nostrils from showing much from the front!! - When the surgery turns out well, it even looks slender from the front! In other words, the front view effect seems at least average to above average - The nose has a slightly refined feel. I think it creates a distinct pretty line
Cons - Consultation and surgery fees are extremely high compared with the career and opening date - Compared with how long the clinic has been open, there are surprisingly many reviews of “botched noses” (not just “I wanted a ski-slope nose but got a half ski-slope,” but noses that can clearly be described as seriously botched) - Hmm... I’ve also heard a lot of not-so-good things - The nose shapes all look the same. It feels like they make pretty noses rather than lines that suit my face - There are quite a few reviews saying the tip of the nose ends up looking unnatural because the nose tip is higher than the length from the alar base to the nostril tip (the vertical nostril length). It feels blunt and unnatural - People say it looks natural, but overall it seems closer to a sleek style (probably because of the reason just above)
2. Sugar (ㅅㄱ) - Director Lee Ju-cheol (aesthetic match 45-50%)
Pros - Makes a wide variety of noses well - So I think they’d make a nose that suits me well too - The front view is pretty and slender - The vertical length from the nostril tip to the nasal tip is longer than the length from the nostril tip to the nose tip!! (I’m very satisfied with this detail) - The line is pretty rather than especially refined - It’s a clinic people go to a lot for revision surgery, so it feels reliable
Cons - Seems less good at straight and semi-straight noses - Because of the above, I’ve seen quite a few cases where the shape was unsatisfactory. There also seems to have been some complications in the past. There were many cases where people wanted a semi-straight nose but got a ski-slope nose instead - The long-nose-to-short-nose feel I want is not there... it does get shorter, but there’s still a long, narrow ski-slope feel as if the nose tip was pulled out at a 45-degree angle - They do make many different noses, but only by degree; fundamentally there’s still a slight half-ski-slope feeling (if you want a completely straight nose, this is not the place) - For revision surgery, they seem to recommend costal cartilage in most cases... but I want to reuse my septal cartilage
3. Wona (ㅇㄴ) - Director Choi Tae-joon (aesthetic match 50-55%)
Pros - Next after Obli, they capture the overall feeling of turning a long nose into a short one quite well - Surgery cost is not excessive - The nose-tip length detail I kept emphasizing is also satisfying
Cons - As expected, most lines are semi-straight and closer to a half ski-slope than a straight nose - The nose tip is too pointy for my taste (I prefer it rounder with the columella coming down a bit) - Because of the issues above, the nose feels rather flashy. If it looks flashy in photos, it would probably stand out a lot in real life - Naturally, there were often reports of complications and dissatisfaction - The nostrils are a bit visible from the front!!!! I hate that
4. Jungseok (ㅈㅅ) - Director Seo Jung-seok (aesthetic match 40-45%)
Pros - Hates long noses - A true pioneer of surgery without implants (no columellar support either) - A kind doctor who willingly consults on early corrections from other clinics and tries to help with surgery (I’m truly grateful. When I was so mentally unwell I wanted to die, the director’s warm comfort and treatment helped me) - I haven’t seen any major complication cases (contracture, severe inflammation, cartilage protrusion, severe columellar deviation, etc.) - Great detail in nostril length and nose-tip length
Cons - From the side, it looks a bit like a turned-up nose to me - The line isn’t refined - From the front, the nose looks a bit like a cherry tomato and slightly pinched (not a pinched nose, though), and there’s some issue with the nostrils being overly visible It strays very far from my aesthetic sense in the front/side details - A few reviews are not bad, but reviews that fit my aesthetic perfectly are veeeeeery few
5. Dareum (ㄷㄹ) - Director Song Jin-woo (aesthetic match 30-40%)
Pros - Natural! Out of all the hospitals, it seems the most natural - They’re safety-conscious, so I don’t think there’d be a major nose problem or an absurd, uneven, unnatural nose-tip height - The detail from nostril to nose tip is reasonably decent - I learned about them because they made a hooked nose shorter and cleaner somewhere else (this was 60% in line with my aesthetic!)
Cons - Because it’s natural, there aren’t many improvements - Among hooked-nose cases, I saw many where the nose tip droop and columella droop were left unchanged (I was shocked because it just looked like a thick, higher Squidward nose) - The change seems small compared with the price
6. Between (ㅂㅌㅇ) - Director Lee Ji-hwan (aesthetic match 50-55%)
Pros - Compared with other clinics, they’ve handled difficult hooked-nose cases from time to time - They try to use a support structure method without extending the septum - The nose-tip length detail I’m talking about is also good! Quite good - They try to operate at a height that isn’t too excessive
Cons - When improving a hooked nose, instead of shortening the drooping, forward-long nose the way I mean it, about half the cases are the type I hate most: the nose tip is pulled out and raised so it no longer looks hooked, and the other half are moderately rounded and pretty columella shapes that match my aesthetic reasonably well - I’ve often seen issues with nose-tip drooping, step deformity, or very slight saddle-nose issues, along with shape dissatisfaction - Both recommendations and warnings come up a lot - Expensive!!!!! Similar to Obli or even more expensive
7. Object (ㅇㅂㅈ) - Director Lee Gyeong-muk (aesthetic match 30-40%)
Pros - They don’t put cotton in the nose... that sounds incredibly nice - They have experience with a wide variety of noses - If I want something natural, they seem to make it sleek by my standards - They’re often mentioned for revision surgery, so I’m hoping they’re stable
Cons - To me, it feels too sleek... I’m not sure it would come out naturally - Oddly, it doesn’t match the aesthetic I want - I’ve also seen cases where people were dissatisfied with the shape
8. Livian (ㄹㅂㅇ) - Director Lee Se-hyun (aesthetic match about 45-50%) - Not enough information
9. Migo (ㅁㄱ) - Director Kang Eun-taek (aesthetic match 55-60%) - Large hospital, but there are cases where the front of the nose becomes thicker, which is disappointing
10. Jungwoo (ㅈㅇ) - Director Lee Jung-woo - Really not enough information
I excluded all the commonly recommended or well-known hospitals like ㅇㄷㅇㅇㅇ, ㅁㅌ, ㅋㅇㅍㄹㅅ, 431, ㅇㄷㅅ, ㄷㄷㅇ, ㄱㄱ, ㅁㅇㄷ, ㄴㄴㅇㅇ, etc. because they didn’t match my aesthetic, were too flashy, or had complication cases. For any additional hospital recommendations, I think you can probably tell from my aesthetic whether it’s the kind of place worth recommending or not..!
If I judge only by aesthetics, I want to go to Obli, but I’m hesitating because, more than I expected, it ends up looking sleek in real life and because of the nose-tip length detail, the tip looks blunt and awkward (it stands out), plus there are various complaints, rumors, and complication cases
But if I go to another hospital, I’m afraid the aesthetic will be subtly different again and I’ll end up needing a third surgery
Ignoring financial circumstances, if I only consider aesthetic + naturalness, I’m drawn to: Obli > Between > Migo > Wona = Sugar > Jungseok > Object = Livian > Dareum > Jungwoo (last because I don’t know)
If I also consider safety while ignoring financial circumstances, then considering both aesthetic + safety, it seems to be: Migo > Sugar > Between > Obli = Jungseok > Object > Dareum = Livian > Jungwoo
