After deciding to get my first rhinoplasty, I narrowed it down to hospitals that offered custom silicone implants and a natural-looking result, then made a consultation reservation. I waited a month just for the consultation appointment. The hospital facilities, consultant, and director were all kind and good, but the consultation with the director lasted about 10 minutes. The reason was that he said my nose was already fine enough without surgery, and that he personally could not do it. He said my nose is slightly crooked to a degree that ordinary people would not notice, but if it were raised, it would become visible, so the downsides would outweigh the benefits. I did not receive recommendations on what material would be good, the surgical method, or an estimate (the estimate cost I wrote is just a rough number). I understand what he meant, but I also wondered whether correcting that is part of a doctor’s ability. I just got the feeling that they only wanted to do easy surgeries that would produce good results.
